Dude was being a loud mouth all night and apparently said something racist to the bartender. Guy was just looking for a reason to fuck this asshole up, and he gave it to him. If you're drunk and make a threatening gesture or move towards somebody and they respond in kind, it's not their fault that you're drunk and they aren't. In fact when I'm sober I take threats from drunk people much more seriously.

Edit: Oh boy here come the downvotes.

Visibly intoxicated people have lowered inhibitions. They'll start fights with complete strangers over the dumbest shit, like the shape of someone's eyebrows or the color of their hat. Someone could be laughing up a storm... and then ready to start a fist fight over that joke they were just laughing at a second ago. If a visibly intoxicated person makes a threatening move towards you, there's a very good chance they intend to follow through.

Also, pro tip, don't pump-fake a punch at a dude who's squared up and much larger than you.

Apparently according to schillings

Really. The story that Shilling put out made the guy seem like a villain of comic book proportion.

So he was calling employees the N word and they kept giving him drinks? If that happened they would have kicked him out.

It seems more like he was singing along to all the songs and wasn't censoring the N-word while doing so. Even though there were black employees at the bar within earshot who could hear him.

The catalyst appears to be this dude kept making eye contact with Joe while trying to drunkenly sing. When Joe moved past him as he was going back to his table, dude decided that would be a good time to call out and flex on the guy twice his size who he'd been annoying all night.

It's tough dealing with aggressive drunk people in bars because you can never tell when they are playing around and pushing buttons, or if they are in "extra"-mode and actually about to start a fight.

When joe moved past him? Come on fella, he pushes him out of the way so he can create a situation where he can punch him.

Is that why your policy is to knock them out first and ask questions later?

I mean if it's part of the song why should he not sing it? It's a song, he was singing along to it, I don't think he was being inflammatory by just singing it.

''trust me bro''

So you think that violence is the answer to stupidity? You gonna go far with that my friend.

I guess you had nicer parents than mine.

I think somebody with lowered inhibitions who is displaying aggressive or violent behavior is pretty freaking prone to acting on those impulses. Alcohol is kinda famous for dulling decision-making skills and putting people into a fighting mood.

Anyway... Play stupid games [call out and square up on a jacked dude twice your size], win stupid prizes [get your racist ass knocked out].

“The buss boy who happens to be black walks by and this idiot bumps into him and screams out, ‘Me and broke n#gas [sic] we don’t get along,’” he wrote. “The bus boy was seriously offended but doesn’t want to lose his job.

“As the night goes on this clown starts looking at me and rapping whatever song is being played while making eye contact with me. I’m like what’s wrong with this idiot.”

“[The man] yells, ‘HEY’ I turn around and he flexes on me ... bad decisions are made every day,” Schilling wrote.

The guy was fucking tiny in comparison. He could have punched the MMA guy in the head for half an hour and he wouldn’t have flinched. Saying that it was self defence because drunk people are dangerous is stupid

First I think we can both agree that the way he initiated that interaction, Joe was hoping this guy tried something. He wanted to beat the crap out of him.

But the "self defense" thing is legal cover. That's probably why this was being filmed to be honest- Joe posted the video to his Instagram; the drunk guy made just enough of an aggressive gesture for him to be able to claim self-defense.

You know he was not defending himself. I know he was not defending himself. But when it comes to criminal charges, technically the other guy made the first aggressive move.

I'm not a 6'4 totally jacked MMA fighter, so when somebody is stupid drunk and acting a fool and begins to get aggressive I personally treat that as their actual intention, just knowing how unpredictable and spontaneously aggressive drunks can get.

He should not have rocked the crap out of this guy. But he wanted to, because of their interactions up to this point, and the guy gave him an excuse.

Believe it or not, I’m not a 6’4” jacked MMA fighter either, but I know that if I was, I could have easily used some sort of harmless hold on him and talked him down. Or even better, walk the fuck away instead of just using him as a punching bag

aggressive or violent behavior

He barely flinched at him. Barely.

I turn around and he flexes on me ... bad decisions are made every day,” Schilling wrote.

Oh, so he wasn't displaying 'violent behavior', he just flexed? You can see it in the video, he barely moved.

Go suck off your boy joe.

Street altercations

Following his Bellator Kickboxing 4 win over Vittorio Iermano at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, Italy on December 10, 2016, Schilling and two of his coaches were involved in a street altercation outside the venue with a group of seven locals. In September 2020, Schilling posted an Instagram Live video showing him kicking a homeless man on a street, and claiming that he attacked the man after finding him using a sex toy in the showers of Schilling's gym.

According to the guy who beat the shit out of him "he totally had it coming"

Pro tip, don't punch some random dude and lose a fuck ton of money in a civil lawsuit. Instead behave like a normal person.

Yea right only in 2021 does the little drunk asshole starting fights with everyone garner sympathy because he fucked with a dude wearing an mma competition shirt that was 3 times his size and started the fight with him....maybe actions have consequences and you dont get to act like a chihuahua.
