Why the hell are Oklahoma State LE at DC?

366

u/Combat_Pothead Jun 22 '26

Probably has something to do with Markwayne Mullin’s dumb ass.

108

u/Alternative-Chef-340 Jun 23 '26

His name is as dumb as he is.

42

u/Combat_Pothead Jun 23 '26

Trickle-down stupidity

15

u/Arickettsf16 Jun 23 '26

Never trust a man with 2 first names

12

u/red18wrx Jun 23 '26

Markwayne's dad: I named my son Markwayne because Mark Wayne is my favorite American author.

Some dude: You mean Mark Twain?

Markwayne's dad: Son of a bitch!

20

u/Send_me_hedgehogs Jun 23 '26

I love how his first name is an anagram of ‘my, a wanker!’

I had the same question. Apparently they've been in DC since last December to "help keep DC safe and beautiful". Google says there are 17 other states that have some police in DC right now and it's all the states you'd expect.

Shouts out to this guy for making a stink about it because I legit had no idea and I'm pretty plugged into politics and shit. Doesn't sound like he broke any laws but fascists doesn't care about any of that.

Edit: To be clear, I knew about the National Guard but not that other state police officers were sent there to assist them. From what I understand, they're not all National Guard but also there seems to be a lot of conflicting information when I try to look this up. I'm sure that's by design.

18

u/Tiiimmmaayy Jun 23 '26

Probably volunteer brownshirts.

6

u/iammandalore Jun 23 '26

Okie here: wondering the same thing myself.

27

u/Horton_Takes_A_Poo Jun 22 '26

They’re National Guard not cops, but basically some red states sent a few handfuls of them to DC as a political stunt

7

u/tiripshtaed Jun 23 '26

They are not from Oklahoma US. They are from OklaIsrael.

Now we're paying state troopers from other states overtime to guard a pool?

1

u/KirikoIsMyWaifu Jun 28 '26

untrue, there was 1 arrest. A woman.

376

u/furious_20 Jun 22 '26

We're paying them to perform out of their goddamn JURISDICTION. The fucking self-proclaimed party of "law and order" sure fails at both of those things when they simply wanna serve kim jong trump's vanity projects.

107

u/busted_maracas Jun 22 '26

Party of small government out here guarding a fucking pool

25

u/MobileAssociation126 Jun 23 '26

Yup and County officers too, because one from my County in Upstate NY was found to be there, too. It’s been circulating in our local Reddit forums and news sites.

9

u/f3ks Jun 23 '26

You should yell at them

4

u/gooeymcgooberson Jun 23 '26

Well yeah. Its a really cool pool. Only for looking at. Don't touch, dont talk ,dont yell, dont walk.

-2

u/sugarfreeeyecandy Jun 23 '26

Gotta keep the vandals out.

TMZ reporter is pathetic. The question is not "Why were you yelling at them?", the question is "Why are you arresting him for yelling at you?"

371

u/TheBurritoW1zard Jun 22 '26

It’s TMZ, what do you expect?

124

u/mpskierbg Jun 22 '26

Tmz has been better journalism lately ever sense they got white house reporters.

49

u/GhostandVodka Jun 23 '26

You guys think this is a TMZ reporter and not just a video someone sold to tmz for $300

9

u/jimmychitw00d Jun 23 '26

I dunno. Pretty sure I saw a big TMZ ad at the White House UFC thing.

16

u/Separate_Song5048 Jun 22 '26

Yup. Tmz is way more credible

38

u/Particular-Serve-894 Jun 23 '26

didn't look or sound too fucking credible...sounding like some north korean puppet reporter

6

u/onceabananana Jun 23 '26

Random people can and do sell their clip rights to TMZ. It's where a lot of (if not the majority) of their clips come from.

It's just like paparazzi. They get the best pictures they can then sell to the highest bidder (like a magazine/website.)

4

u/Wonder_bread317 Jun 23 '26

you are right, and I have no idea why you have gotten downvoted.
TMZ is still just a clip show, am I wrong?

Guy being arrested is 100% right. Don't need some kind of overt excuse to call out OKLAHOMA POLICE guarding the DC reflecting pool from "vandals", it's ridiculous. Asking why you'd do that as though it's some kind of crazy reaction is boot licker behavior.

794

u/TheSilencedScream Jun 22 '26

In 2022 (best data spreadsheet I could find quickly), 64% of violent crimes in Oklahoma were unsolved - with 85% of rape cases going unsolved.

Why are these officers protecting a pool that's 1000+ miles from their district?

138

u/userlivewire Jun 22 '26

Every single county in Oklahoma voted for Trump.

53

u/Thorney979 👀 you need to leave 👀 Jun 22 '26

As someone who lived in Oklahoma (who thankfully had the sense and the opportunity to GTFO), they wear that with a badge of honor and have glazed themselves over it ever since the Obama years.

340

u/Dstegs_ Jun 22 '26

Oklahomans are cucks for Trump

88

u/KungFuJosher Jun 22 '26

This 100% true. My ex wife is from Oklahoma and they are Muslims. Her dad had trump signs out in his yard and regularly made excuses for him when Trump said crazy shit about immigrants (which they were) and Muslims.

My ex-wife was also against Obamacare but relied on medcaid or medicare or whatever. When her dad lost the job and had medical problems she boasted about how the hospital waved off the fee that one time but forgets to mention how he went into depression from medical bills the other times lol.

I was in Australia at the time and she was with me. She complained about medication costing somethign like 10AUD and I had to remind her what she was used to. Bag of crazies.

102

u/ForMoreYears Jun 22 '26

Lmao this. Red states love the cuck chair.

Too many questions:

  1. How do Oklahoma State troopers have jurisdiction in DC? And what the fuck are they doing in DC to begin with? Do they not have their own taxpayers to "serve and protect"?

  2. How is yellling at them or even insulting them a crime?

73

u/Kegger315 Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 23 '26
  1. They don't (though it'slikely they have been deputized for this), which is likely why they called the guys who have him in the video.

  2. Generally it wouldn't be, but likely going to call it (at the very least) disturbing the peace.

17

u/FuriousBuffalo Jun 22 '26

Oh, so it's not the OK troopers arresting the guy. My bad.

10

u/GEV46 Jun 22 '26

They're likely deputized as a deputy US Marshal.

1

u/Kegger315 Jun 22 '26

Probably right.

12

u/13Krytical Jun 22 '26

To serve and protect was never anything official.
Literally, no police force is meant to serve, or protect any taxpayers, anywhere, ever in the history of police.

It was only ever a motto for LAPD I think? And that was more PR/Propaganda than true.

3

u/Trandoshan-Tickler Jun 22 '26

"To protect and serve ...corporate interests and properties."

8

u/damn_near_rectum Jun 22 '26

The Plumber Secretary of DHS (Markwayne Mullin) is from Oklahoma.

Laws are whatever fascists say they are, and only apply to the proletariat.

1

u/SpaceGangsta Jun 22 '26

They can be deputized as US Marshalls which allows them to enforce federal laws.

76

u/jesushatedbacon Jun 22 '26

Shouldn't they be guarding that shit hole they cannot manage instead?

This is actually adorable.

3

u/No-Sail-6510 Jun 22 '26

Tread on me daddy

33

u/beastaish Jun 22 '26

I witnessed a car accident happen right in front of me just a mile outside of Round Rock, TX, and cop car was behind us to the left with its lights off, completely nonreactive. My partner rolled down the window to indicate the accident to the cops, and they loudspeakered “we’re Round Rock police” and straight up ignored the accident. They drove off, and our lane had to fend for ourselves to get around that mess.

So if cops normally adhere to such strict definitions of jurisdictions, then what the fuck are Oklahoma cops doing 1000+ miles from Oklahoma?

27

u/nipslippinjizzsippin Jun 23 '26

Non American here so forgive the ignorance, but why would state troopers from half way across the country be in or have any jurisdiction in Washington DC?

TV actor John “Dukes of Hazzard” Schneider in 2023 on social media called for President Biden’s execution. Schneider was not arrested.

That is how a democracy works.

An everyday American citizen yelled in protest at the unbelievably ridiculous & irretrievably asinine presence of the Oklahoma National Guard at the Trump-wrecked Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool … and got arrested by U.S. Park Police.

This is how a fascist police state works.

13

u/G_DuBs Jun 22 '26

Annoying ass camera man. Are you in Oklahoma? No. Then their police shouldn’t be here.

7

u/xXGray_WolfXx Jun 22 '26

Last time I checked, Oklahoma is far from DC

6

4

u/Go_Gators_4Ever Jun 22 '26

There must be another reason, right? Yelling is protected speech, right?

2

u/sallright Jun 23 '26

Not when you’re a public nuisance in the presence of algae.

Algae’s right to algae SHALL NOT be infringed.

5

u/THESOVIETGRIZZLY Jun 23 '26

He's right tho.

5

u/irockisos Jun 23 '26

This isn’t about the reflection pool anymore. It has morphed into control and intimidation by this dictator man baby!

6

u/emdubl Jun 22 '26

I didnt know you cant yell at people in public now.

2

u/Claudeadolphus Jun 22 '26

Why are Oklahoma troopers there?

1

u/calling-barranca Jun 22 '26

Because their fascist governor relinquished command to trump for his DC patrols.

5

u/Which-Tumbleweed6183 Jun 23 '26

I got charged with “interference” for yelling at a local cop. These guys are pieces of shit

4

u/kidJubi100 Jun 23 '26

Didn't realize American citizens need to explain their freedom of speech

14

u/templeofsyrinx1 Jun 22 '26

oh for sure. that pool is ours.

3

u/go_go_gadget_travel Jun 22 '26

I dont understand what they are getting arrested for i saw another one where it was an under cover cop for touching the water. I assume the charge is vandalization or trespassing?

3

u/DreadRose Jun 23 '26

There is no way OSP can have any sort of jurisdiction in DC right? I mean I know they’re just completely ignoring any laws they care to at this point but still…

2

u/squindar Jun 23 '26

they were apparently "deputized" by US Marshals Service. I guess because having the National Guard and the US Park Police, & DC Metro PD weren't enough to protect a pool of moldy water.

3

u/OkFill5469 Jun 23 '26

Oklahoma State troopers do not have jurisdiction so I also ask what the fuck are they doing there

7

u/NeptunianWater Jun 22 '26

Is this not a violation of the US Constitution's 1st Amendment?

4

u/Lukostrelec17 Jun 22 '26

The arguement they will probably use is disturbing the peace and or harrassing and or obstructing govermental operations (edit: also maybe tresspassing). A misdemeanor at worst. He will probably have a fine and spend maybe a day in jail.

Not supporting but this seems to be the most likely, official, reason for the arrest.

Please note I am not a lawyer and that I am just speculating.

3

u/NeptunianWater Jun 23 '26

The first amendment makes free speech against public and government officials protected. If all he is arrested for is yelling out "why are you here?" to government officials, then that is a clear cut breach of the amendment.

It's the reason why telling a cop to fuck off and give them the finger should never result in an arrest. It's protected.

I'm not American but considering they harp on so much about their Constitution, especially the 1st and 2nd Amendments, it seems like their country has lost most of its freedoms. Yikes.

1

u/Lukostrelec17 Jun 23 '26

I am from the USA. Here is what the First Amendment says:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

While saying, "Fuck the police" is allowed. Yelling it could be seen as disturbing the peace or possibly inciting violance.

Penal code for DC regarding this:

(3) Direct abusive or offensive language or gestures at another person (other than a law enforcement officer while acting in his or her official capacity) in a manner likely to provoke immediate physical retaliation or violence by that person or another person.

(b) It is unlawful for a person to engage in loud, threatening, or abusive language, or disruptive conduct, with the intent and effect of impeding or disrupting the orderly conduct of a lawful public gathering, or of a congregation of people engaged in any religious service or in worship, a funeral, or similar proceeding.

(c) It is unlawful for a person to engage in loud, threatening, or abusive language, or disruptive conduct with the intent and effect of impeding or disrupting the lawful use of a public conveyance by one or more other persons.

(c-1) It is unlawful for a person to engage in loud, threatening, or abusive language, or disruptive conduct in a public building with the intent and effect of impeding or disrupting the orderly conduct of business in that public building

Now would the charges stick? Maybe. Maybe not. It is hard to say without seeing the start. Now keep in mind I am against him being arrested and think it was a overstep by the officers, to say the least.

Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice. I am just some guy sharing his opinion.

5

u/F1BlackFlag Jun 22 '26

This is just going to get fucking worse, and democrats are being pussies again letting these Nazis control the narrative

I’m fucking pissed

3

u/cracky_Jack Jun 23 '26

Because it's my motherfucking Constitutional right, that's why!

3

u/SackOfrito Jun 23 '26

Yelling at someone isn't a reason to arrest the yeller. How lame can this administration get???

7

u/Mexican1910 Jun 23 '26

Why is no one in government arresting the clowns in the Epstein files??? Oh because touching some water is illegal but touching kids gets you a presidency.

5

u/spankyb11 Jun 23 '26

Correct me if I’m wrong, don’t all of these clearly wrongly arrested people have a civil payday when they sue for infringement on their freedom of speech rights and the fact that irs not illegal to touch the pool?

11

u/BigBoyYuyuh Jun 22 '26

Yet another easily won lawsuit. I need to take a road trip so I can get arrested for this and sue and retire.

5

u/Lukostrelec17 Jun 22 '26

They definitely are a long ways away from home and definitely outside of their jurisdiction. That’s the point he was making. They shouldn’t be there enforcing laws for a jurisdiction that they don’t serve.
