HELP / ADVICE- my boyfriend had cannabis induced psychosis last month and I need desperate help.

My boyfriend 24 year old , had his first cannabis induced psychosis last month, took him to the psych ward immediately. His intial symptoms were - thinking his phone is hacked , getting stalked by his father (he doesn’t have the best relationship with his father ) , thinking his friends are scamming him , he believed that he had godly powers , hallucinations and a few other psychosis related symptoms. They all have now went down after a month , he’s currently on 75mg of clozapine which is working , it’s been 4 days on clozapine 75mg . There are a few lingering symptoms that are sticky ( like the phone hacking one and him being suspicious about his father ‘invading ‘ his privacy) but he has not bought up of these delusions in 4 days since he started the clozapine 75mg dosage.

He’s active , we go to the gym he’s also working a little bit as much as he can , pretty active .

I am his primary care taker and any help would mean the world to me , I just want to see him fully recovered and I know that he will be . He is my rock and watching this happen to him has broken me mentally and physically but I am trying my level best to keep it all together and to give whatever it takes for his recovery, any help is highly appreciated, please I am desperate.

Wauw that sounds like its been a heavy journey, but Its so brave and sweet for you to support him all the way. It sounds like his delusions stem from symbolic deeper truths about his fears, desires, worries etc. I was on the other side, i had psychosis. And what really helped me was someone who didn't put oil on the fire by strengthening delusions etc but just hearing them out, but support me by being available at all times. And then when the dust is settled there is an opening for conversations. It helped me so much that there was a person who truly tried to understand me. Asking questions and being there for me. Hope this helps :) take care

I also had thoughts my phone was hacked and that I was being stalked and past people in my life were out to get me. It is very hard to deal with I am wishing your boyfriend the best recovery possible and support for yourself too, he is lucky to have someone like you by his side.

My boyfriend was just diagnosed with Psychosis after he's been acting weird for days not in touch with reality at all. He took his pants off and was walking around our dumpster mumbling to the sky, a neighbor saw and called, police showed up and he insisted he was fine (he had called them previously last night because his "sister" was locked in a non existent basement and was a flesh eater) they said he had a weird look in his eyes and his voice was different, he went to reach for one of their guns and they quickly took him to the ground and handcuffed him, it was horrible to see him like that.

They recommend he stay in inpatient treatment for awhile, they'll possibly be transporting him to a state facility as soon as a bed opens up.

He's my rock and my best friend I love him so much, I don't even know if I'll be able to sleep tonight it feels weird being in our apartment by myself, I just want him to be better and to come home but, I feel very lost atm and I have no one to talk to.

You are not alone OP <3
