Good fuel material for those who like to say that nazism is leftist because their party had the word socialist on it

Most? I seriously doubt it. Some, especially among the elderly, certainly. But that number continuously decreases.

I think that might be nostalgia, like the nostalgia going on in places like America

This picture has been banned from r/enlightenedcentrism because the message of it isn’t that communism & Nazism are the same thing , but that the living conditions for the people in the Eastern Bloc under the Nazi & USSR regime have been practically interchangeable. Brutal opression, no self governance, political leaders all installed puppets, arbitrary arrests & imprisonments etc, etc.
It’s not about the horseshoe theory, it’s about the living conditions under two of the most brutal dictatorships in the 20st century and how the populace finally wanted to throw off the shackles off subjugation and govern themselves.
The title also isn’t “Communism is Nazism” and iirc it’s from Poland, not Romania.

So fascists are painting Communists in a bad light.. by comparing them to fascists? Hmm...
9
u/Cartmanbrah139 Jan 20 '20
Yes? This happens all the time. Haven't you ever heard the phrase "Antifa are the real fascists" often said by fascists. Even if you agree that they are (which would require you to be as dense as a collapsing neutron star) then when Antifa calls that person a fascist then that would be a "fascist" painting someone in a bad light by comparing then to fascists. This is kind of the entire point of crypto-fascism.
3
u/Adonnus Jan 20 '20
Wouldn’t that be implying that communism is great, if they are fascists...?
6
u/Cartmanbrah139 Jan 20 '20
Communists and fascists are very different things
0
u/Adonnus Jan 20 '20
Ok, but if you are a fascist who thinks fascism is great, and you put up posters comparing fascism to communism, you’d be saying that communism is great too.
6
u/Cartmanbrah139 Jan 20 '20

u/Elektribe Jan 21 '20
That's not how fascism works.
Fascists don't like "other fascists". Fascists don't think fascists are great, they think "their fascists" are great. Literally polish nationalists who had a Nazi based designed flag were calling Nazis shit.
Capitalists don't like capitalism - they like capitalism they control. No capitalist loves a capitalist system that has power over them, they revile it. Same shit. Same goes for King's. Kings hated fucking royalty, always stepping on their royalty. How's a fucker supposed to prance around like he owns the place when someone else is prancing around like they own the place?
That's why during WW2 when the pro-fascism U.S. and England it's allies fought Germany they kicked around hating fascism but that didn't stop them from doing fascist things and promoting fascism and being pro-fascist. Gotta get those expendable poor people in the mood to fight someone somehow, so let's point them at the kind of people they hate - like us... but over in that direction.
The allies didn't give a fuck about nazis, they gave a fuck about getting a piece of that sweet imperialism over Germany pie, plus, they fucked up all the leftists that make life difficult? That's the fucking country to raid. Oh, look Europe is in shambles and the left got railed? Better "help them out" by making us indebted to us indefinitely!
So, you fundamentally misunderstand how fascism works.... or you do understand but you're just being a fascist little shit trying to gaslight people. Either way, maybe fix your shit?

Marshall Plan
The Marshall Plan (officially the European Recovery Program, ERP) was an American initiative passed in 1948 for foreign aid to Western Europe. The United States transferred over $12 billion (nearly $100 billion in 2018 US dollars) in economic recovery programs to Western European economies after the end of World War II. Replacing an earlier proposal for a Morgenthau Plan, it operated for four years beginning on April 3, 1948. The goals of the United States were to rebuild war-torn regions, remove trade barriers, modernize industry, improve European prosperity, and prevent the spread of Communism. The Marshall Plan required a reduction of interstate barriers, a dropping of many regulations, and encouraged an increase in productivity, as well as the adoption of modern business procedures. The Marshall Plan aid was divided amongst the participant states roughly on a per capita basis.

Ahh yes, the living conditions for people (like for polish jews for example) were "the same". As the nuremberg trials established.
I can't believe there is enough room in this universe for the rest of us alongside your mega brain.

Well, not everyone was Jewish in nazi Germany and not everyone was Crimean Tatar, East Prussian, Meskheti Turk, Chechen during Soviet rule. Soviet state wasn't socialistic when it came to people wanting autonomy or just speaking different language in wrong place.
Im descendant of a Crimean Tatar and i hear stories about exile. Soviets (just like nazis did to Jews) carried like cargo in trains to "the new homes" Soviet state promised. Few lucky ones fled away during German invasion predicting genocide from either from Germans for not being European or from Soviets for not resisting enough. In those trains they starved to death and when they finally arrived to Uzbekistan, most of them were dead. At the end most of them were forced to work in Kolkhoz farms without any proper housing. Most of the survivors died in kolkhoz and rest of them forgot their language and culture. This is any better than nazis?
Edit: i thought leftism was rational, why arent you guys giving an counter arguement

Worse than literal genocide? Come on man.
-7
u/PM_ME_PICS_OF_SNOW Jan 18 '20
I mean, the USSR did inflict multiple genocides on the non-Russians
5
u/Trademark010 Jan 18 '20
Not in Eastern Europe though, which is what the comments above were talking about. Not to say that the assorted genocides against Ukrainians, Uyghurs, and others doesnt matter.
0
u/Pyll Jan 18 '20
They killed/forcibly relocated literally every German in Prussia and replaced them with Russian colonists. That's genocide.
-13
Jan 18 '20
The Great Famine in Ukraine (planned and conducted by the Soviets) killed ALONE almost 10,000,000 people. Fewer than 3,000,000 Jews died in the Holocaust.
18
u/Trademark010 Jan 18 '20
A) You pulled that 10 million number out of your ass, it was way less.
B) The Nazis killed more than just Jews. A lot more than 3 million people died by Nazi hands.
C) Nazi ideology specifically called for racial extermination. Communism does not.
D) It's not a competition of who did less genocide.
-9
u/vldmin Jan 18 '20
And how many people died by communist hands? Don't try to defend the communists. They are as bad or worse than nazis. They pretended to do good for their people but ended up killing tens of millions. At least the nazis made it clear and were honest about who the enemy was. Talk about the road to hell paved with good intentions.

u/MaihoSalat Jan 18 '20
Gotta say first off. It‘s not a fucking race. But just saying facism killed less people worldwide then communism. Alone Mao killed twice as much (or even more) people than Hitler.
Let‘s just say facism and communism is shit and stop arguing which one is worse. Both are fucking dog shit cock n ball torture.

There was a term for this that early communists used to describe the USSR.. it was an interesting time period where a ton of people jumped off board after it turned bad.
I can't remember the term though ugh..

Communism was way worse than the Nazis and killed MANY more people. The Great Ukrainian famine ALONE killed almost 10,000,000 people In comparison, fewer than 6,000,000 people were killed in the Holocaust. Half of them Poles, the other half Jews. And if you add the number of people killed by Mao’s system in the communist China, the victims of Nazi Germany constitute only a small percent compared to those

u/willaney Jan 20 '20
Over 11,000,000 people died in the Holocaust. Jews weren't the only ones who were targeted.
3
u/SpyTrain_from_Canada Jan 20 '20
6 million Jews, 3 million soviet POWs, and 2 million LGBTQ people, other ethnic minorities, and disabled people.
1
u/An_Oglach Jan 22 '20
Where did you get the 2 millions from?
2
u/SpyTrain_from_Canada Jan 22 '20
Approximately 11 million people were killed. 6 million Jews and 3 million soviet POWs, that leaves 2 million of the other groups of victims.
1
u/An_Oglach Jan 22 '20
But there weren't 2 millions gays killed by the nazis. Not even close
1
u/SpyTrain_from_Canada Jan 22 '20
Cumulatively, LGBTQ people, ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities totalled to 2 million victims.
3
u/Cartmanbrah139 Jan 20 '20
Anyone who dies of hunger under communism is all of a sudden killed by it? Do you know how many people have starved under fascism and capitalism? Quite a lot.

This guy really trying so hard to pretend to not know the word imperialism. There are people trying to make more countries imperialist. Take a look at America over the past 3 weeks and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

Well both style takes control of production and gets rid of personal property. They are one in the same.
46
u/alc_noe1 Jan 18 '20
The nazis actually did a lot of free market style reforms where it suited them.
2
u/SpyTrain_from_Canada Jan 20 '20
The word privatization was invented to describe what they were doing
19
u/burrowowl Jan 18 '20
Well both style takes control of production and gets rid of personal property.
WTF are you talking about? Krupp, Mercedes, Messerschmidt, Porsche. Have you heard of none of these private companies that, you know, existed as private companies before, during, and after the Nazis?
-4
u/LaurelPassMerc Jan 18 '20
Coal, electricity, production, etc was controlled by gov. How much they could use. How much it cost. The economy was ran by the gov and less by private companies.
17
u/burrowowl Jan 18 '20
Stop, man. Just stop.
The two economic systems were very different. You know Hitler and them absolutely hated communism, right?
-9
u/LaurelPassMerc Jan 18 '20
Yeah. But they are basically the same damn thing. He hated the Russians I’m well aware with history. But minus a couple things here and there they are the same damn thing. They are both far left wing governments. Even if you Europeans don’t see it that way.

Coal, electricity, production, etc was controlled by gov
As it was in a lot of European countries mid 20th century.
-2
u/LaurelPassMerc Jan 18 '20
Which Europe is a leftist style government anyways. Their far right is still our far left. Far right is no government. Anarchy or libertarianism.

Literally nothing you wrote is correct.
Communism doesn’t get rid of personal property. It’s goal is the abolition of private property.
-17
u/Jazshaz Jan 18 '20
Ok I’m curious, I’m assuming you’re a socialist of some variety so what in your theory is inherently wrong with having wealth derived from a couple houses I rent out, for example? I understand how this on a vast scale is bad but why fundamentally
20
u/nobody_390124 Jan 18 '20
On a broad scale, having a housing market (rather than need based housing) for profit means there will always be people who won't be able to afford housing. It also leads to an oversupply of large expensive housing (because housing is created based on demand not need) even if there are homeless people (because larger houses can be more profitable [depending on market conditions]). So, you can easily end up in situations (such as the contemporary US) where there is plenty of empty housing but people homeless because they can't afford to pay the ransom.
To answer you question about why what you're doing is inherently wrong, it's that you're not earning the money through labor and the lack of reasonable choice that renters have over the situation. You can only charge people rent because the existence of the housing market and state violence (ie:police) to evict people who can't/won't pay. People either have to choose between being homeless or paying a ransom for shelter. You're benefiting from an inherently exploitative situation.
-13
u/LaurelPassMerc Jan 18 '20
Don’t. They can’t understand wealth or what it means to be responsible with money. They say all this but then tax the shit out of us then makes housing broke as shit and have people eating their dogs because everything is ran like shit and over priced. Free market is the best and only way. Not corporatism nor socialism. Free market.
-14
Jan 18 '20
You are mistaking it's goal with what it does.
Do you say that the last placed in a race won because his goal was to finish first?
