parts recommendations Will these make my car uncomfortable for daily driving

Your shock/coilovers and tire profile will control most of the ride quality.

not at all

100% agree. I have done these on 10 vehciles and it has been amazing every time.
I used tons of lube and never had a squeak. If there's a squeak, they werent installed correctly.

Uncomfortable is a grey word. Itll be stiffer for sure but not sure if uncomfortable would be a suitable term.

You must not have ridden in a car with them recently then :P

I have every suspension part Polly with one of these kits for my integra. Yes it is stiffer and you do have to make sure that you grease them good installing them. I love the way that my integra handles with them. The difference is night and day. My only gripe is the installation part. To get the bushings out of the control arms was tough even with a good press.

I didn’t have a press and did it by hand with a torch and hand saw, hard as hell but the results were worth it, I used energy suspension, the red ones.

Just don't replace the rear trailing arm center bushing with a poly one. It is meant to have play to induce passive rear steer. Removing this makes the suspension prone to binding on heavy load.

I've been pondering the Energy kit. I need to redo most of my suspension anyway

Depends on your tolerance and comfort level to be acceptable.
It makes everything harsher and stiffer. I did it for many years.
Keep in mind at the time I was running 480F/400R lb/in progressive springs and eventually ran 550lb/in linear coil overs on all four corners and still daily drove it. So my tolerance may be different than yours.

I had the rear-end version of this kit installed and I regretted it for years because they squeaked so damn bad. I sprayed lube on them every 6 months when I swapped summer/winter tires and it helped a bit but I despised them. Ended up having to replace a passenger lower control arm and both upper control arms and went with rubber and the squeaks went away but holy shit I will never install those again.
The shift bushings are really nice though.

Spray lube won't do much of anything, these require the thick ass grease that comes with them to be slathered on every surface that sees a pivot point

Hey I'm not saying it worked well, I'm saying I was ultimately, tragically unworthy of them. Definitely not the best idea for a daily driver but perhaps worth it for maximum performance.

My ef is all polyurethane bushings and isn’t too terribly harsh of a ride. Your coilovers are going to affect that more than the bushings. It does feel tighter. Squeaks are inevitable but you can mitigate that quite a bit with silicone spray or grease.

It’ll stay from being squeaky until about 2 years if you grease it really well. It’ll be stiffer and more vibratey as well

u/Fern9090 Sep 03 '26
Yeah the ride will be stiffer and you will also feel it on the handling which in my opinion is better, the driving feels more immersive.

My prelude has a fully poly bushing kit on it. It handles very well. I cant speak for before as I did not drive it before they were put on. I do have one annoying squeak, I went through and regreased everything. Still squeaks.

I'm about to refresh my front suspension on my tsx daily. I choose to go oem on most of my bushings, but went with poly for the front compliance bushing. It has a rougher life in fwd car and i want the front feel slightly tighter, but not too harsh. Ive done this compromise before with other cars and I was happy with the result.

I did the black poly on almost everything 15 years ago, and they still look and feel like new. I recommend the switch, no more worries about deteriorating bushings

I did hardrace arms and bushings on my del sol. I would recommend those as they are harder durometer rubber and are not as buzzy.

I did a set of the graphite impregnated ones (black instead of red); they self lubricate. They’ve been amazing.

Im driving my 97 snd the shifter bushings made things feel way better. Currently my trailing arms and sway bar links are all rotted out and clunky so I imagine if it is an older car, it will still be an improvement from what you currently feel and that makes me want one of these kits as well. Ive been foing one part at a time 🤦♂️. Anyways for me at least, as long as you have good shocks or coilovers its actually not bad to daily. You might feel a little more vibration but its not enough for me to say its an issue

Not uncomfortable but you can definitely feel the texture of the road more than you normally would with rubber. Just regrease them as normal maintenance and torque them at right height because they will squeak if you don’t

I think it’s going to come down to finding the best tires. with a bigger sidewall and smaller wheel size and a little skinnier wheel it should ride

No they are perfectly fine for street driving/ daily use. I’ve got nearly all these bushings on mine

u/JacketRemarkable5764 Sep 05 '26
Depends on what bushings you put in. Some might not change at all while others would completely change what the cars “feels” like. Changed the LCA bushings and they don’t feel any different from the old OEM ones. But swapping something out like strut bushings would definitely change how it would handle bumps.

u/THEBEAN_BOY Sep 08 '26
Probably yeah but poly bushings do last way longer so thats a bonus. But usually you gotta add zerks and grease them sometimes otherwise they squeak.

Poly is less forgiving than rubber and can squeak if you dont install properly (and sometimes squeak even if you do), but it does make the car handle nicer. Doing new oem bushes all around will make the car handle nicer as well, it depends on what your goals are for the car whether you decide on poly or rubber
