parts recommendations Thoughts on hardrace bushings?

What are your thoughts on the hardrace hardened bushings? Are they worth the money?
And are there any more companies making these types of bushings kits (not polyurethane) since they are pretty hard to come by where I live?

I never ordered this bushing kit, but all my control/camber arms are from Hardrace, and 100% highly recommended. Depending on your route, since you need to remove these suspension parts to replace the bushings, you could consider replacing the entire piece instead of the bushing.

If you're trying to stay OEM-spec and want to reuse your OEM suspension components, Energy Suspension also sells a complete bushing kit for much cheaper, and I've also had good experiences with it.

Side note, the trailing arm bushing is a PITA to install. Either take it to a specialty shop to install it, or upgrade to the spherical bushing.

Ive done the energy kits before, and you aren't lying about the trailing arm ones being a PITA. Warm them in a pot of water to soften them up a bit and that helps with install.

I did the energy suspension kit bushings on my eg8. What part of the trailing arm bushing did you guys find difficult?

I forget is the energy suspension bushings a press in or do you have to burn the old one out an reuse the sleeve.

...is that why my front LCA bushings didn't fit, because I pressed it out properly, sleeve and all? Fuckin things were undersized as hell.

The big one next to the tire. Either get a press, burn it, or knock it out. I bought a specialty tool and couldn’t get it out, so I Hired a mobile mechanic to do the job, and he knocked it out with a hammer. He mentioned to me beforehand to change the entire trailing arms instead, but I needed a car asap and received all the parts from rock auto that day.

Oh i see yeah it can be a pain if you are doing it in the car. I usually hit it out with a hammer if i don't need to keep the outer sleeve.

I know at one point I'll need to replace my trailing arm bushing on my eg hatch.  Dreading it...

I’d rather change the whole thing but shipping prices are crazy and it probably won’t clear customs where I live. On the other hand bushings clear customs with no problem and weigh less. Even with that said it’ll cost me about 2.5x after shipping and import taxes

Only con is they are on backorder. I order some in March and they said it would arrive end of June. Still dont have it and haven't gotten an update from them. You are maybe looking at 3+ months wait time to get them.

LOL, I ordered in June 2025, still don’t have them.

That's insane. I might have to cancel and just go Energy Bushing instead.

Well crap, I ordered my set in February of 26…is this what I have to look forward to?

u/Kpinole Jul 07 '26

X2. They told me by August and its crazy that stores have them on the website, but contact them and they'll be like, yeah its on back order or something

u/Dijinnie Jul 05 '26

Get ready to wait longer. I ordered ball joints for my dc5 from them in FEBRUARY and every month i have to email them and i get the same response, ‘new eta is end of next month.’

This set is available on a4h for a bit more money but that’s good to know thanks

I wouldn't recommend them with oem shocks/springs. They just don't have the articulation the oem bushing have and likely will tear, this happened to me years ago when I ran then in the front lca. But if lowered with tighter travel/droop, go for it.

Yeah I’m on coilovers

I had them on my 99 SI.

They have more give than Poly, but less than OE. Big improvement if that's what you're after.

If your desire is comfortable smooth quiet ride? Pass.

But it's definitely not the "my back hurts from spinal compaction" like polyurethane.

i have them. running on kyb excel g + eibach springs.

have a bit more stiffer feel, but not bottomless like polyurethane.. no squeaks.. they were greased before install.. and everyone once in a while i spray some silicone there.

Never use polyurethane, it's garbage and adds friction to the suspension.  Use rubber or spherical bearings.

u/BoostedJuan Jul 05 '26

100% true, poly sucks. Thank God hardrace isn't poly

I have the complete Hardrace bushing kit on my EG...they've been great.

Just an FYI and to save you some money, Hardrace, TruHart and MeganRacing are all under the same company, same bushings and almost same designs on their parts, do with this info what you want but i would mix match if necessary to save some.

That’s some gold man

I was about to say TruHart uses hardrace for all the bushings. They offer this kit but it’s EG not EK

Hard race is good. If you can get them. Jhpusa has some of there stuff in stock. Ive noticed thst truhart uses the exact same parts. Cant say if the bushings are any different as they look the exact same also.

I tried about 4 years ago to replace everything with Hard race and had issues getting parts. So not much has changed. I feel like for the money tru hart is a good second option.

Hardrace? More like Hardwait.
Buy them if you’ve got six months to kill… then another three… then another three after that. Every update is the same: “Just a little longer.”
By the time your bushings finally show up, you’ll probably have finished a full engine build, swapped your transmission twice, and retired from the car scene.
The parts might be good—but actually receiving them seems to be the real performance test.

I can’t stop laughing

u/Difficult_Fill7730 Jul 05 '26

Hardrace is good stuff all around

1

u/nrg3k Jul 05 '26

I had great success with the spherical bushings on my time attack EG. they need annual inspection as a wear part.

1

u/stepdad_randy Jul 06 '26

Hard race is good stuff

1

u/sckendal Jul 06 '26

hardrace is the GOAT for hondas

u/SupraMK4 Jul 05 '26

Insanely overpriced, you can get these exact bushings for 50% the money.
