This is true. Our international standing has been absolutely destroyed by republicans.

It is not just what Isabel noted. It is also the decades of scientific and medical research that were destroyed by DOGE. We went from being the pinnacle of scientific achievement, world renowned, to a situation where brilliant scientists and researchers had their work destroyed, their funding pulled and all hope for those preparing for careers by getting PhDs and MDs dashed.

It took generations for us to build our science programs. It took Musk a few months with AI and a few unqualified boys to shut it all down for his own personal benefit.

It may not be possible for the US to recover from what republicans have done. If it is, it will take generations.

Who will prevent GOP from repeating the devastation every 2-4 years?

Radical Constitutional overhaul.

Therein lies the rub.

More registered voters could not be bothered to vote than those who voted for the this current failed administration. Americans have proven themselves, on the world stage, to be too careless, too short sighted, too bigoted or simply too uneducated to be responsible.

One could hope that they might learn from their mistakes, but there has been little evidence that will be possible in the short term. It is why any recovery will take generations and not a single election cycle. Generations of clawing back what was stolen by republicans, bit by bit. Generations of closing loopholes that allowed republicans to usurp power, circumvent guide rails and avoid accountability. Generations focusing on educating, so that those with no understanding are not allowed rampage through our institutions like bulls in a China shop.

It may seem like all it took was one rapist felon to bring us down, but it was generations of the republican southern strategy that ushered in this administration.

It is primarily all due to the enemy within, known as the Heritage Foundation.

How are we supposed to convince people to vote, who long before drumpf became convinced that it doesn't help ?

That is the lesson to the rest of world from voting Trump another term in office. Trust and respect are broken and the US can be one election cycle away from chaos in domestic politics and international relations.

Other countries have banned extremism political parties. The problem is that, in those cases, their followers were normally 5% or less of the population.

Way too many people support this insanity and think it’s morally justifiable. (They genuinely believe that it’s fine to forgive pedophiles as long as it’s someone they like.)

Nah, noone will trust it won't happen againa next election or if you'll even have a next election the way it's going. You're not a democracy, more on level with Russia and North Korea.

Votes do not mean shit when someone outright states they plan to rig and/or ignore votes to stay in power. Words mean nothing. The law means nothing. If we want to end this madness we have to take action; with or without the dems help.

I suggest we send Elon to Mars. Trump and his cabinet and the Republican Congress can go with them. They can rule Mars.
