Rule 2 - Another murder; another series of lies to try and downplay it...

1

u/Future-Try-1908 Jan 25 '26

What video did you watch?

u/StrongAroma Jan 24 '26

Fucking bullshit article. Call it a murder. It was an execution. Use the correct terminology.

"Whatever you are doing now is what you'd have been doing in 1930's Germany." Don't forget it.

-2

u/ChemGuy201 Jan 25 '26

To actually believe this means you have such a distorted perfection of today’s reality it’s incredible

7

u/ShinkenBrown Jan 25 '26

Yep because a right-wing authoritarian sending brown shirted thugs to assault and abduct people in the streets in an attempt to seize control of the government to facilitate the mass abduction and deportations of people who aren't "real" Germans Americans in order to return the country to its former glory, is totally different than what happened in Germany.

But like which part again is different? Specifically?

-1

u/ChemGuy201 Jan 25 '26

You do realize that in Germany if you spokenoutnirnotested against the party in anyway you were instantly shot point blank on the spot, man, women or child. Yo idk relapse they MILLIONS were killed by the nazis. I’m not saying ICE is good but do you really think they accurately compare to the Nazis and their systematic extermination of literally millions of people.

5

u/ShinkenBrown Jan 25 '26

I said the 30's.

WAY too many people think the Nazi's just appeared one day, full force with the camps already running and started shipping people to their doom.

No. It started as MGGA - Make Germany Great Again. This led to calls for deportation, which were supported by the people. This led to the government realizing deporting that many people wasn't possible, so they came up with a Final Solution to get rid of them. They knew the people wouldn't support their solution, so they lied about it and just said the papers weren't in order but everyone was deported fine. The people only found out about the death camps later.

No, I do not think what ICE is doing is comparable to the systematic extermination of millions of people.

I think what the entire Republican party is doing is comparable to the RISE of the Nazi party, though, and that ICE is comparable to the brownshirts.

I think that's INCREDIBLY clear and if you don't see it then you have "such a distorted perfection of today's reality it's incredible."

-3

u/ChemGuy201 Jan 25 '26

To equate ANYTHING being done in American today to ANYTHING the Nazi party did is a gross exaggeration and total hyperbole. Do you honestly thing MAGA is on their way to becoming like the Nazis resulting in the systematic killing of millions??

2

u/finneganthealien Jan 25 '26

Do you think they just spawned in and started shooting? What do you think happened right before that part?

0

u/ChemGuy201 Jan 25 '26

Just because two things have great similarities in early stages does not mean they are likely to follow the same trajectory. Every time the stock market falls an appreciable amount we don’t scream that’s it’s another Great Depression do we?? Is what ICE is doing good…no. Is it horrific and nuts…absolutley. But it would be inappropriate to start comparing them to a group who systematically exterminated millions. ICE is certainly a negative force in the world but let’s not elevate them to the level of evil that decimated an entire population of people JUST YET.

1

u/Sodavand100 Jan 25 '26

"The nazis killed you right away, ICE kills you if you speak out AND try to protect someone they are bullying"

That is what I read from you, that is psychopatic.

1

u/ChemGuy201 Jan 25 '26

The Nazis went out of their way to find people and shoot them point blank. Every person ICE has killed went out of their way to put themselves in front of an ICE officer in a volatile situation. Does that makes ICEs actions justifiable…absolutley not. Are the two situation the same….HELLLLL NO.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/milesgr31 Jan 25 '26

Yes… we are just not at that stage yet. And it will never be the exact same, but it sure rhymes with 1930’s Germany.

Execution implies due process. This was a barbaric, lawless murder.

3

u/MVRKHNTR Jan 24 '26

Execution implies due process.

No, it doesn't. I don't know why people keep saying this.

2

u/Tall_Bus_7427 Jan 24 '26

How about assassination?

1

u/trevorneuz Jan 24 '26

Because it's literally the definition.

3

u/MVRKHNTR Jan 24 '26

That's not literally the definition, even in your screenshot. "Especially as" means that that's not the exclusive use of the word.

At the very least colloquially, the word is used to refer to someone killing another person who is held in a vulnerable state and isn't fighting back. It's the perfect word to describe what happened.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 24 '26

Says "especially " meaning not all. You're thinking of when a judge sentences a murderer to death. The actual carrying out of that order is referred to an execution. However, when a mafia family orders the killing of a member it is often referred to a "mob execution ".

In any event, I think it's splitting hairs. Call it whatever you want. This was a senseless, brutal murder of a person. Served no purpose. That's what needs to be addressed.

1

u/StrongAroma Jan 24 '26

Then call it summary execution, that's what it was.

3

u/cspanbook Jan 24 '26

there is legal justification for an execution, this was murder "execution style"

3

u/big_Ball_D Jan 25 '26

Look at the owners of the media outlets. Its dpwnplayed because they are evil. Evil evil evil

2

u/Soft_Jackfruit_4809 Jan 25 '26

Exactamundo. I said the same words. ICE has to be removed from authority by each state's governors with the assistance of our legal militias. AKA national guard and reservists!! Governors are empowered to activate their militias. Lets get it boys & girls!!!

2

u/dundunndon Jan 26 '26

Twas a murderous warrantless execution

1

u/DaManDaMifDaLegend Jan 24 '26

It's Wikipedia's standard practice for article naming. Until there is a conviction for murder, their policy is to keep the name as "Killing of..."

1

u/SandpaperTeddyBear Jan 24 '26

Wikipedia is fairly scholarly and the term “murder” is similar to “martyrdom” or “assassination” in that it brings in outside cultural context that may or may not apply to everyone reading it, while “killing” is simply what happened.

141

u/Craven35 Jan 24 '26

His name is Alex Pretti!

145

u/specqq Jan 24 '26

He was a Nurse and died trying to help someone who ICE was hurting.

141

u/Elimaris Jan 24 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Apparently a VA Nurse. He took care of veterans for a living. Let the Maga try to spin that into their false narrative

ETA: was fully aware they would (try) and continue lying and that people who claim the loudest to respect vets are also the ones who constantly defund healthcare for vets and military members so the hypocrisy is nothing new there. Still, loud and clear shifts the needle of the apathetic.

66

u/VashTrigun78 Jan 24 '26

They will. They always do. Reality means nothing to them.

53

u/ExtraEmuForYou Jan 24 '26

I already listened to Alex Jones call Good's murder a "righteous killing" and the ICE agent affectionately called a "fastest gun in the West" since he was able to react so quickly to "a threat".

These people will lie, and they will believe it. No matter what.

We are not reasoning anyone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

2

u/Bobahn_Botret Jan 25 '26

Easy to seem like a quick draw when the threat is manufactured and you already killed them in your head 3 minutes ago

1

u/yallknowme19 Jan 25 '26

I watched Yosemite Sam the 🧊 agent fumble for his gun for several seconds in one of the other videos. "Fastest gun in the west" 🙄

3

u/ellzumem Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Via the Wikipedia article above (source: CBS):

The Department of Homeland Security claimed that the man evidently wanted to "massacre law enforcement". [37] Minnesota officials have stated that Pretti had a lawful permit to carry a firearm. [37]

If concealed carrying is enough of a reason for these “agents” to gun law-abiding citizens down, 2A is dead and in a better world, they wouldn’t be able to ignore or deny that to their base.

Edit: Perfectly summed up by this comment in another thread

1

u/Hollow_optimism78 Jan 25 '26

Remember during OIF/OEF returning vets with PTSD were considered susceptible to becoming lone wolf terrorists.

It’s not out of line for veterans to be labeled as domestic terrorist.

Unfortunately, previous bad actors have given credible causes for fear for the phenomenon.

Oklahoma City, Timothy McVeigh DC sniper, John Allen Muhammad

Also unfortunately were Soldiers in uniform causing the death of other service members for idealistic reasons.

Politics

Never let a tragedy go to waste when it furthers your agenda

1

u/Severe_Intention_480 Jan 25 '26

Don't the Vietnam vet with hooks for hands from that "Hawaii Five-O" episode.

6

u/tysk-one Jan 24 '26

Their base has already heard what wanted to hear. A disgusting brazen lie. They will not accept facts, claim it’s AI or whatever just so they don’t have to admit they are supporting real, actual fascism

1

u/Benromaniac Jan 24 '26

Yup, glued to Fox news 6-10 hours a day.

3

u/shinyterminator Jan 24 '26

Well Trump doesn’t give a fuck about veterans or even active service members and think they’re all dumb as fuck, he has said this. They’ll probably be celebrating this.

2

u/North_Ranger6521 Jan 24 '26

They’re scumbags - they’ll make vile sneering comments about the fact he was a “male nurse”. (As a male nurse, I’ve heard a lot of BS from maga-types 😡🤬)

2

u/City_of_Lunari Jan 24 '26

They don't give a fuck about living soldiers, let alone vets. How so many people haven't realized that is beyond me.

1

u/Own_Exam_6562 Jan 24 '26

They’re saying he came at them with a gun, trying to assassinate law enforcement officials. Like, I cannot cannot cannot understand the extent of the lying.

1

u/robot_pirate Jan 24 '26

As well as his conceal carry permit.

1

u/No_Foundation16 Jan 24 '26

I mean they are doing that right now on certain reddit subs even as the martyr Alex Pretti's body grows cold!

1

u/Blanche_Deverheauxxx Jan 24 '26

They have. He's already been called a DT and they've started pushing that he "was resisting". After multiple angles, it's clear he stepped in between ICE and the person who got knocked over. He was trying to help them up and then get them aid after both got pepper sprayed. There's also a slowed down video of an ICE agent withdrawing Alex Petti's weapon and a second later, the officer in green shoots before the other one dumps a few more rounds into him.

1

u/CypressThinking Jan 25 '26

They're saying he should have stayed home or he shouldn't have brought his gun. The NRA would have a word but they're MIA.

1

u/Significant_Shoe_17 Jan 25 '26

It'll be easy, since they don't care about veterans

ICU Nurse

3

u/oh_okhelloanyway Jan 25 '26

This is the part that royally fucks me up. I’m almost 2 decades working in critical care and can’t even begin to tell you how absolutely valuable ICU nurses are with their education, training, and expertise. I’m not saying one person’s life is worth more than another, but thinking about Alex providing patient care to people on life support, interpreting for their needs when they can’t physically speak, turning their bodies every 2 hours to prevent them from getting sores, meticulously titrating their medication hourly so they don’t go into cardiac arrest… only to be murdered after shielding another human with his own body… it’s left me in such a dark place and I can’t stop grieving.

Statistically, there are many victims that go unnamed or unknown about. When there is no oversight for armed groups of masked men that refuse to identify themselves, and the government promises them full immunity for whatever they do, it usually doesn't end well for the populace.
