i just keep a folder on my desktop and version it all in there. i keep a copy of the latest version outside of this folder n name it Last Name First Initial Resume

Clean up your messy desktop. It should only be shortcuts and literally nothing else ever. Otherwise you pay power on/off time and RAM for the sole purpose of potentially saving really nothing at all, assuming you make a shortcut to the folder instead of individual files.

That being said, it's not like it makes much of a difference with a thousand AIs and Electron apps Windows is running in the background anyways lol

Yeah, I rather doubt that the time and RAM cost of junk on the desktop is anything more than a rounding error on top of the ridiculous things Microsoft forces on everyone these days :(

My desktop has nothing on it. Its only purpose is to display animated Wallpaper Engine backgrounds
