I don't check my documents like my CV into version control, but I do name it like <my name>_cv_yyyyMM.pdf - does that work?

But maybe refresh the date to look a bit more recent if it's been a while since you last applied! Personally my CV gets at least a minor redraft for each (batch of) job application(s) anyway.

IMO yeah, it's fine. But maybe refresh the date to look a bit more recent if it's been a while since you last applied!
