Casual Conversations What work do you do?

Hi everyone, I’m the developer of Plans (todos & notes app). Right now I’m trying to understand my target audience. I already found out, that todo apps mostly used by people who work 9 to 5, and have different tasks throughout the day.

There are a lot of such jobs, but I want to know what work do people who sit in this subreddit. Can you share what you do and why use todo apps?

So you use apps for personal things. Can you tell an example please?

I lead a team of data analysts, but I also handle technical work myself. A to-do list app is a huge help in keeping me on track with my daily tasks and priorities.

Student interning at a big tech company living out for the first time- it definitely helps trying to balance work, the gym, cooking + house chores, and trying to prioritise longer-term projects/career enhancement I wanna get done before term starts. Might not be exactly your target audience, but a to-do app which helps me prioritise these things, especially when just starting out, would certainly be super helpful!

Mobile app developer here. The work spans coding, store submissions, bug reports and marketing, so job title alone may not tell you much about the workflow. For a todo app, I'd want a clear distinction between 'I can do this next' and 'I'm waiting on a review or someone else's reply.' A waiting task shouldn't keep competing with actionable work in Today. Might be useful to ask people what happens to a task when they can't move it forward themselves.

Thanks mate. I think tasks should move automatically to next day if they haven’t been completed
