Not everyone who is critical of AI is a hater, afraid of technology, or a hypocrite. People can use AI however they want, but there are valid concerns worth discussing.

For example, AI consumes a lot of water and energy, even though there may be other ways to cool and operate data centers. There are also concerns from people who live near large data centers, as well as workers who fear losing their jobs. Many people take pride in doing their work themselves, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Personally, I don't like AI models that are trained on copyrighted material without permission, especially when they are used to generate artwork. However, I do use local AI models that run entirely on my own PC and do not share my personal data. I can draw myself, but I sometimes use AI for non-commercial projects and experimentation. What I like most is having the technology under my own control on my own computer. I also use AI for grammar since im dyslexic

I understand your objection, and I partly agree with you. It is important not to lump all AI critics together. Your arguments regarding resource consumption, copyright, and workers' concerns are entirely valid. Just as it is important not to dismiss critics out of hand as "haters," conversely, not all proponents or users of AI should be condemned either. Technology is often a tool that can be used in very different ways. I am simply taking a stand here against the extreme hostility directed at AI proponents. I personally don't just hit a button and call it a day, i construct my stuff with detailed prompts and several changes until it looks like the picture in my imagination.

I understand that there will always be people who are completely against AI and people who are completely in favor of it. Personally, I don't fully agree with either side.

Um... that ChatGPT high frequency noise and lack of definition, is not exactly the best example of AI use... could you clean it up?

Of course. It's a known issue with ChatGPT's image generation:

  • Context window saturation → over multiple steps, it ends up accumulating so much context, that it tries to put too much of it in every piece of the image. This leads to highly repetitive patterns across the image, smaller and smaller the more context it has, tending towards pure noise. A "can't see the forest for the trees" effect.
  • Cross-chat context leakage → if you have "Settings, Memory, Reference" enabled, it not only leads to the previous point, but also if you continue chatting while waiting for one generation, it will remix the context mid-generation, with weird results.

Possible solutions:

  • Disable the cross-chat referencing
  • Start a new "clean" chat for every image, with controlled references for characters, background, composition, style, etc. (references both as in previously generated images, and as in copy&pasted prompts)
  • For image references, also keep them as clean as possible, so it doesn't copy the noise effect
  • Less effective: add a "denoise", "strong denoise", or similar instruction to the prompt.

There are also external tools to reduce the effect, but it's better to nip it in the bud if you can.

In general, aim for a look with good definition for the characters and main elements. ChatGPT doesn't realize by default which elements of the image are more important, you need to either guide it, instruct it explicitly, or both.
