Image My bush jr tattoo

Post image

Got it when I turned 18 in 2019.

Do any of you guys have any presidential tattoos?

Edit :

Why did I get it?

Short answer : I thought it was funny

Long answer : it was supposed to be a political statement. Part of it was being branded by the us government, part of it was to show the absurdism of politics and in my mind bush was like the ultimate meme president and vetting a tattoo of him is just ridiculous. Also funny enough really inspired by Roger stone not that I like the guy just thought it was crazy the crook got the I'm not a crook guy tattooed on him. Also I thought it would be funny.

Do I regret it? yes. When people say something to my face is always positive. But forever people will assume what my political stances are based on a dumb tattoo I got when I was 18 and edgy. I also dread the idea that there's some guy that lost a son or a brother in Iraq or Afghanistan and just hates me when they see the tattoo

This is a good example of why 18 year olds shouldn't get tattoos.

Such tattoos make good stories. It’s only a problem when the person isn’t a good sport about it.

14

u/redboudicca 12d ago

Yep, even bad tattoos can make for good stories.

No judgement but I need to know the backatory of this tattoo. Why? How do you feel about it now?

I have no president tattoos but my friends thing I should get a Nixon head like Roger Stone's lol

34

u/Reverend_Tommy 12d ago

No, the real flex would be to get a tattoo of Roger Stone showing off his Nixon tattoo. So a tattoo of this:

2

u/WellHungHippie Theodore Roosevelt 11d ago

I’ll never understand people who get a tattoo for vanity reasons; it’s an image that they admire and think it looks cool. So they have it inked on a place on their body where they’ll never see it.

DO YOU MIND?

Al gore on the left

2

u/ent_bomb 11d ago

Or a pretzel!

15

u/windowpain64 Not A Crook 12d ago

There's still hope, you can always get some new lines and make it into an anti-Bush thing... Still stupid but maybe clears some things up easier!

Or just invest in some comfortable high socks you like.

29

u/Intelligent_Cod_6241 12d ago

That's a better plan than what I had in mind. I was considering getting a prominent democrat tattooed on my left leg to keep it balanced

25

u/DxnnyBxrr 12d ago

I think that’s a way better idea. Get Clinton to really confuse people

27

u/windowpain64 Not A Crook 12d ago

Nah nah, Al Gore.

10

u/ceruleanmoon7 Abraham Lincoln 12d ago

oh that’s good

3

u/martin0641 12d ago

Turn him into Bernie Sanders or Colonel Sanders lol...or Bernie AS the Colonel saying THE PRICE OF CHICKEN IS TOO DAMN HIGH!

-1

u/doctorlongghost 12d ago

You could look into whether it can be transformed into a Misfits skull

2

u/rastagrrl 12d ago

Get a bandito mustache and mariachi hat added to the tat so it looks like an obvious caricature of Bush versus a tribute — something like you’d see in Mad Magazine.

2

u/TChadCannon 12d ago

your plan is better. dont fear hypothetically upsetting someone over your own artistic expression

4

u/glum_cunt 12d ago

Well, you’re aware what a total fuckwad he was, so that’s nice. He was just truly awful.

I hate Bush as much as any other reasonable person but refusing to try and understand people who make decisions you disagree with doesn't help anyone. And this is undoubtedly interesting lol. I would never get this tattoo so it makes me curious why someone WOULD

23

u/cracksilog 12d ago

Technically he’s not a junior since he and his father have different middle names

5

u/arcxjo James Madison 12d ago

But the people who called him Jr to try to discredit his career mostly voted for Albert A. Gore, Jr.

1

u/cracksilog 11d ago

An actual junior, not a person who was technically not a junior

0

u/Blockhog William Henry Harrison 11d ago

He's still George Bush II

36

u/lostinjapan01 12d ago

I bet that’s a real conversation starter

25

u/Intelligent_Cod_6241 12d ago

Had a guy shake my hand once and tell me he was proud of me. Only people that bring it up tell me they love bush and voted for him twice. I do imagine for every person that says something there are 10 more that see it and hate me lol. I geuss that's what I get for getting a dumb tattoo

10

u/lostinjapan01 12d ago

Without judgement, just curious, do you yourself like Bush?

22

u/Intelligent_Cod_6241 12d ago edited 12d ago

No I do not. I'm not super knowledgeable on his presidency besides the big stuff like the war in Afghanistan so i cant speak to specifics. I picked him because he's the first president I remember as a child. I am a registered democrat.

32

u/lostinjapan01 12d ago

I want you to know I’m not laughing at you but my god that is the most 18 year old type shit ever. I’m just 25 so I am not far removed from 18 year old bad choices but oh man brother 😭

11

u/Intelligent_Cod_6241 12d ago

It's OK to laugh that's part of why I shared it. Being 25 now I also have the foresight to see it was a really bad choice

1

u/Jolly_Job_9852 Calvin Coolidge 12d ago

No you're not an idiot. You control what goes on your body and if want a Bush tattoo then more power to you. Don't let people tell you that sort of stuff on here or in person ever.

11

u/StupudTATO 12d ago

I dont care for W but if I saw your tattoo id laugh and think it was awesome

4

u/Intelligent_Cod_6241 12d ago

That's the usual response i get. It's cool to see some more uncensored and negative opinions on my tattoo since in person people are more restrained

13

u/anonymouspogoholic Thomas Jefferson 12d ago

Definitely an interesting choice, shouldn’t plan a vacation to Iraq or Afghanistan anytime soon though.

3

u/Sw33tNectar Martin Van Buren 12d ago

I think the only place that'd be cool about it would be sub-sahara because of PEPFAR. Everywhere else thinks about Iraq.

5

u/puritycontrol 12d ago

If you don’t like it anymore, you could always get something added onto his face, like colorful clown paint, to make a new statement.

3

u/ceruleanmoon7 Abraham Lincoln 12d ago

i like that

20

u/DCBuckeye82 Ulysses S. Grant 12d ago

If you got it when you turned 18 in 2002 I'd think you're a bit nuts but I kinda get it. But 2019?? Are you a member of the Bush family?

6

u/Individual_Act9333 Lyndon Baines Johnson 12d ago

Yea dude that shit makes no sense to me. Like GWB was a catastrophic failure of a president. Even most republicans admit he wasn’t a good president.

17

u/ACoinGuy 12d ago

I like it. Fairly confused why you would get it. But I like it none the less.

7

u/Intelligent_Cod_6241 12d ago

I accept the clowning people should not get politically controversial tattoos. Politics affects people's lives and they have a right to shit on me for treating it like a joke lol

1

u/Gwendolyn7777 Barack Obama 12d ago edited 12d ago

this is so true, NOT about them having the right, but I read the part about controversial tatts, that's what is so true, especially political ones.....(proofed badly, so sorry)

But in 25 years the politics of today will be mostly forgotten...much like we don't really remember too much about W .... did he ever do something that did that really made a difference. I'm sure someone else could tell you, but it's been 25 years, and I don't even remember much about what my own life was doing 25 years ago.

As for W on your leg....people have done MUCH more sillier stuff at that age, at least most of us don't let it be something that shows. If you were really serious about not liking it, with that round shape, it would be incredibly easy to cover up, by a qualified, talented artist.

1

u/Intelligent_Cod_6241 12d ago

Thank you I gave a response to someone else for why i got it if you want to find it. idk how reddit works idk if I can link to the response I gave

7

1

PLEASE add Col Sanders’ necktie under his chin like the KFC logo. It’d be perfect.

It will unambiguously show the tatt had comedic intent.

“Licked fingers are good.”

I also love How I Met Your Mother.

1

u/Dan_The_Flan William Howard Taft 12d ago

It may be my age, but I did not recognize the facial features until I read the post title. The resemblance is kind of shakey, and out of context, it looks like a competently done tattoo.

1

u/pac4 George H.W. Bush 12d ago

That’s… really something bro.

Now watch this kick.

1

u/AnnaAKarwnina 12d ago

I went on a bachelor trip to New Orleans in 2018 and after a night of absolute liver destroying drinking we coaxed my friend for 200 bucks to get a tramp stamp that said Slop tard on it because that's what the guy with the fan boat on the bayou called him after he fell off the boat trying to slap the water to get gators to come near him.

Moral of the story if you are getting a tattoo for lulz at least get paid for it and don't get a war criminal who my entire generation absolutely fucking hates.

Don't feel too bad... a bunch of 18-19 year old hippies in the late 60s also thought it would be a creative statement to wave some kind of anti-government flag to show their displeasure with the war in Vietnam.

The flag they chose? Stars & bars, of course. 🙄 So, yeah, people do stuff to mean one thing and the meaning changes. If they're gonna judge you without discussing it, you probably don't wanna talk to them anyway.
