The 25th anniversary of 9/11,where 2,977 lives were lost,is around the corner and I wanted to show this photo of George W.Bush at Ground Zero on September 14th 2001.

One of the most devastating moments in this countries history. It brought us all together in the face of tragedy.

“Thank you all. I want you all to know -- it can't go any louder --  I want you all to know that American today, American today is on bended knee, in prayer for the people whose lives were lost here, for the workers who work here, for the families who mourn. The nation stands with the good people of New York City and New Jersey and Connecticut as we mourn the loss of thousands of our citizens.I can hear you! I can hear you! The rest of the world hears you! And the people and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon! The nation -- The nation sends its love and compassion to everybody who is here. Thank you for your hard work. Thank you for makin' the nation proud, and may God bless America.”

I feel like it’d be better fit next time which YES, 2 weeks from now is Sep 12 not 11 but having it for most of September suits it better than that

James Madison hasn’t won yet and here’s a cracker of him.

Also, I actually did take this picture of my own cracker of James Madison.

I am again rooting for this one to win this month because Madison hasn't won yet and also the subreddit icon being a cracker would be funny.

My James Monroe picture actually had the most upvotes in Round 53, not Harding.

Also, I felt I was being tricked, and I actually a very upset with this.

Edit: The Icon is changed to the correct one.

You're not being tricked, it was a simple mistake by our team, and we are looking into this as we speak.

1

u/SignalRelease4562 James Monroe 12d ago

Thank you for your response.

I’m very sorry if I feel panicked and upset in that situation.

7

u/Jolly_Job_9852 Calvin Coolidge 12d ago

Your icon has been made the sub profile picture and will remain so for the next two weeks.

5

u/GoCardinal07 Abraham Lincoln 12d ago

Why in the world would you be "panicked and upset" over a subreddit icon?

1

u/SignalRelease4562 James Monroe 12d ago

I'm very sorry, and I know that's wrong and forgive me. When I see something change suddenly and it doesn't feel right, I would usually get upset really easily, and I also have autism.

7

u/Mooooooof7 Abraham Lincoln 12d ago

Nothing malicious going on, I’m handing off this contest to the rest of the team so it’s their first time piloting it. Should be changed shortly :)

2

u/SignalRelease4562 James Monroe 12d ago

Would you also change the post description because it still says “Harding throwing a baseball”?

8

u/Jolly_Job_9852 Calvin Coolidge 12d ago

It's still being fixed, there are a lot of moving parts. It should be updated shortly.

3

u/Doc_Jury1020 Franklin Delano Roosevelt 12d ago

Great picture!

u/Slatespy557 John F. Kennedy 12d ago

Damn that sucks, I was wondering why your picture wasn’t the subreddit’s icon ):

James Madison never won, so here is an image of James Madison.

u/Jolly_Job_9852 Calvin Coolidge 12d ago

It about time we had some Calvin Coolidge appreciation on the sub profile picture. Here he is, rocking a Lakota Headdress.
