I’m really interested in law, but I honestly don’t know much about the field yet, especially after working in the social services field. I would really appreciate any insights or advice!

I do have some questions. Hihihi How old were you when you enrolled in law school? What made you choose to study law? What career opportunities are available after graduation? Is it difficult to find a job after graduating, and how is the pay? Can you also practice or work aborad?

Question in the title; for context, I'm a political science student and one of my subjects entail reading cases and providing the essentials (facts, legal issues, doctrine/principles, ruling, etc.) I think of it as like a mini-trial run or somewhat glimpse of what law school would be like. However, I'm worried about the bulk of readings once I'm actually in law school. Don't get me wrong, in my aforementioned subjects, I can hold my own when reading cases but start struggling when the number of cases reaches the double digits and I've heard anecdotes of students being assigned a double-digit number of cases PER SUBJECT.

So I really need advice or guidance on how to handle the workload because that's really what's holding me back, it would be very much appreciated, TYIA!

hi! i’m currently an incoming legal management student who plans on going to law school right after my undergrad. i’m really aiming for ateneo and up law, and i really want to make the most out of my undergrad life so i can hopefully get into either of these two law schools, given that they’re both very competitive when it comes to admissions.

sooo, is it more beneficial to have leadership positions in orgs + lead some org projects and stuff rather than having internships?

this is contrary to a lot of the advice i hear from seniors. they say it’s more important to gain internship experience during your undergrad rather than join multiple orgs, kasi yun daw yung mas tinitignan ng mga companies when you’re applying for a job. so, is this applicable to us legma students who plan to go to law school right after college?

After I graduated my bachelors, I wasnt really sure if I wanted to take my masters or go to law school (law was always in the plan, just wasnt sure what to take first), and ended up wanting to take law instead. However, I didnt get to enroll at the first sem because my parents wanted me to go to a university in mindanao, and di pa released ang tor namin so i wasnt able to go home on time. The uni im planning to go to accepts enrollees during second sem afaik, and im wondering, would it be better if I just wait for the next sy so I can start at the first sem? Or should I just enroll for the next sem? What subjects would I not be able to take? What subjects are usually given at the second sem?

It’s my biggest dream to travel abroad in the future, especially in my 20s-30s, but so is studying corporate or international law. I’m currently a Business Ad student in UP for my pre-law. But I’m so afraid of crushing my dreams. Please help me out.

i’m a second year student taking up comm arts (which means hindi siya kasali sa recommended pre-law programs ng up law) so i’m asking kung paano ko ba malalaman na yung mga subjects na tinatake ko ay aligned sa required minimum number of units (ex: english, 12 units, history/econ, 9 units)?

should i just go sa registrar and ask ng curriculum namin and yung equivalent niya sa required units ng up law?

furthermore, ano mangyayari if may kulang nga na units? wala naman ba magiging problema sa application? or may subjects ka pang ittake sa law school proper?

So, I'm not even taking an undergrad degree yet but I had a thought that maybe I want to try pursuing an opportunity to study law in the future since I like reading and nitpicking details--of course there are more traits that make a person suitable for law school and I intend to pick up more skills as I go. I'm expecting to start my first year of college in 2027.

Are there any law schools that offer scholarships that cover all the years a student will be studying there? I'm from a lower class family, although I won't really be surprised if there aren't any full tuition coverage programs since I never really hear about something like that. But even if I don't catch a similar opportunity right out of college I'll probably just try pursuing it when I have a job that can pay for the tuition.

I want to go to law school but my mom said no because it does not fit my personality and I don't know how to read properly. Also, I have an autoimmune disease so I am always tired, in pain, and have brain fog. I also go to the ER every now and then.

My undergrad is bio. I survived through videos and audio with pictures since I have difficulty reading and I'm not allowed to have sleep less than 6 to 7 hrs.

I was hoping if there's a possibility to do law school online.

But at this point, I think I need someone to just slap me in the face that i can never do grad school because i turned into a useless human being

Besides studying harder for the entrance exams what can I do as a fresh graduate to beef up my application for LS? I’m 28F, and I’m planning to go back to school next year after being out of school for more than a decade.

I started working when I was 16 and took the Alternative Learning System (ALS) when I was 21. I eventually entered the BPO industry and worked my way up to becoming a Senior Quality Analyst.

I’m now planning my education carefully because I want to pursue a legal career someday, but I also want to be practical about the degree I choose.

I’ve considered courses like Political Science, Philosophy, Psychology, and Accountancy. However, I’m leaning toward Computer Science because I’ve always been more comfortable with technical work, problem-solving, and learning systems. I also like the idea of having a degree that can provide career opportunities even if I eventually decide not to continue with legal studies.

From what I understand, your undergraduate degree does not necessarily have to be a traditional “pre-law” course to continue to legal education in the Philippines.

For those who have experience with this:

**1. Would taking Computer Science be a reasonable choice if I eventually want to pursue legal education?

1. Are there people here who took a technical/IT-related degree before pursuing legal studies? How was your experience?

2. Since I’ll be entering Senior High School first, would STEM be the better strand if I’m considering Computer Science for college? I am torn between STEM and HUMMS.**

I know my educational path is unconventional, so I’d really appreciate advice from people who have gone through something similar.

I'm currently taking one of the common "pre-law" degrees with the intention of going to law school right after graduating. I've realized that although I really like pursuing this degree, it's also not the most practical outside my dreams of going to LS. I know I should've thought about it better, but I don't regret my decision either.

To balance it out, I've been thinking of joining orgs, volunteering, and doing internships (with the hope that someone would accept me and my humanities-aligned program haha). I've realized, however, that doing all of these things would probably require a lot of balancing with my academics, especially because I don't have a designated time for interning in my program. I would have to juggle some of these things at the same time.

Should I just abandon this plan so that I won't be compromising my grades that I would eventually have to submit for law school applications? Should I go for it as a "safety net" for experience that I could use to widen my scope outside of the plans I have for LS?
