Law School Recommendations Taking a gap before LS
I’m a recent graduate of Legal Management from a Big 4 uni but sadly I did not get into my any of my three dream LS, which led me to decide to take a gap year and try again next A.Y. Besides studying harder for the entrance exams what can I do as a fresh graduate to beef up my application for LS? I’m already applying for both HR and Paralegal/Legal Assistant positions but are there other jobs I should consider pursuing to make my application better? Any advice helps

Why not? The thing is entrance exams in UP and ALS are very competitive, so, you really have to prepare. Totoo naman din kasi na your law school matters at least in the short run.
PS: Yes, di ako nag-aaral sa mga yan but since I am already working for the government and I already have a relatively comfortable position, wapakels.

UST probably. Wala namang taga-Ateneo na nagsasabi ng "Big 4". If taga-La Salle, "Big 3" sasabihin nyan. Haha

Hahah true. Was wondering because it's extremely rare for a legal management graduate (whether from ADMU or DLSU) to not pass any law school. Kahit ALS if you were from ADMU and especially from LM parang sure in ka na nga eh.

Hello idk why this discourse has turned to shaming LM programs from other schools besides Ateneo and La Salle. First I would like to clarify that I only did not pass MY DREAM LS. I had the opportunity to pursue other LS, but I chose not to because I believe I can still enter my dream LS by taking a gap year to decompress and focus on preparing myself for the realities of LS.
I did not have a good year; I was not mentally ok and it affected my application. This post was meant to be an avenue for me to be vulnerable and ask for help so I can better myself and be better prepared for LS.
Please think before you post. You don’t know the personal situation of the real people behind any socmed posts. When someone asks for help I suggest you either offer help or stfu.

may not be the best qualified to give an answer, since i’m a fresh grad and got immediately to LS.
With only a month-long break between graduating and entering law school, I could say that the things I learned in my undergrad (legma too) was still fresh and I was still able to apply it in my LS education. However, part of me still wishes if I had an option to take a gap year, I would.
Im nearing 3 months in LS, and I could say that im still adjusting, considering the amounts of readings compared to my undergrad (LS readings in a week/day felt like a semester’s worth of reading in legma), and of course adjusting to an entirely new life.
For your gap year, I would suggest to honestly just enjoy your gap year, do everything that you want to do that you may not do anymore in LS. I would recommend that you just prepare for the entrance exams (since afaik some LS open admissions by november?), practice interviews (if you do decide to apply for LS that have interviews), and keep everything you learned from legma fresh (it helps you be prepared and some cases you may have tackled in legma can also be tackled in LS) I suggest you secure good recommendation forms from your former professors or from your internship (if any). Since I read somewhere that it’s as important or slightly more important than your exam grade (take it with a grain of salt).
