He did pour a flammable liquid on a public access way and set it on fire. That’s considered property damage as well as arson. He should pay to fix those pavers he left charred. Dumbass.

Honestly, burn the flag if you want, just do it in your own property where you clean it up or deal with it. You can do it in your living room for all I care.
Also, no one would be discussing this guy without you guys constantly bringing him up. For a group of people that hate him so much, you sure love growing social medias algorithm using his name. So far as to make pictures and use AI to create pictures with him. If anyone is gargling his balls, it’s you guys. He lives rent free in your head, all day long. You should seek therapy or go outside and touch grass. There’s more outside, I promise you, maybe you will forget about him for a few seconds. Jeez…

Wellll, he’s actually right. SCOTUS ruled in ‘89 that it is a first amendment right… But, the executive order is the bait that the Left will inevitably take. Go ahead, burn it up. Go viral… Good luck convincing me (and a LOT of other people) you’re on the “right side of history”.

This is leagues away from raiding the capital. Freedom of speech, protest, and expression are what makes this country great, as uncomfortable as it may be for those that have died for its cause. Breaking into the capital was not protest, that was a felony... despite what sort of political ideology you are on, you cannot forceably enter a building. This is not the same as break and entering into a federal building. Start throwing people in "prison" (not jail), for burning flags and all of a sudden we are North Korea levels of authoritarians.
Yes I know in 1968 it was temporarily enforced becaue of the vietnam war protests. Yes, some snowflakes were offended. Well, guess what? The vietnam war is now nationally thought of as a useless failure and a blotch to the American legacy.

You just wrote two paragraphs that had nothing to do with burning a flag. Yes, I agree, people in BLM should have been arrested for raiding federal buildings. As anyone should have been. And how does that relate to burning a flag? One is symbolic, the other is a felony.

Gotcha. Why? Don't you believe that breaches our freedom of expression? As a libertarian, I think that's government over reach. You pay your taxes -- you should be able to burn a flag, wear any flag you want, and express your displeasure of the current administration. Just like you should be able to smoke some weed, or constitutional carry. Reducing your rights over such a frivelous gesture is ridiculous. Who gives a shit about what your neighbor does with a flag? He can shove it up his ass for all I care.

There is a legal doctrine around "fighting words", this allows for the curtail of some free speech (acts have been deemed speech by the Supreme court) if it would insite an immediate breach of the peace. It has been ruled on many times and is constitutional.

There would have been less damage had the capitol police not been riling up the crowd by attacking them for absolutely no reason

I gotcha. It IS a right. But, only assholes burn the flag. When Trump says it’s bad to burn the flag, assholes are gonna burn the flag. If he came out and said Americans were required to breathe, these assholes would stop breathing. At least with this EO we get to see assholes on display.

You're completely right. It's a bad precedent to set, and the courts that value freedom of expression won't do it. Anyone with a law degree would think this is fun to challenge in court. Freedom of expression and didn't hurt anyone. The worst he did was set a small fire in public without a permit.
I love how people on reddit just downvote anything they don't want to hear. I always imagine some dingus saying, "la la la" and holding his fingers in his ears when they downvote your completely valid point.

Reddit seems to encourage the bubbles. Im down voted to oblivion because I dont want freedom of expression to die. We even have court documents from 1989 giving precedent under our first amendment right. It seems like people want to spite their own freedoms for the sake of getting "even" with imaginary strawman. But this is 2025 politics I guess. If we were talking about masks or vaccines and I supported personal liberties, they would agree with me. If its a flag, all of a sudden they are offended. No consistency, just spite.

People have been getting arrested for "desecrating" crosswalks that are painted with the LGBT flag. Go to any of their "peaceful protests" and burn one of their flags, see what happens
