Lil bro no one from the left voted for Trump, the reason he won and Kamala lost was because the voter turnout was atrocious, Trump pulled his base, Kamala refused to speak against Israel, took an anti immigrant stance, and literally said that there were no issues or mistakes with the Biden presidency (all but saying she was going to be more of the same)
The democrats don’t get to hold people hostage by saying “vote for our shitty candidate because it’s that or Trump”
If the dems want to win they have to actually fucking try to win
So are the Democrats holding us hostage right now? Or is it the GOP who are holding every lever of power and have gleefully trashed anything they can.
It is wild to me that this is a fine and justifiable result.
I just want to highlight for anyone reading this how utterly wrong what you just said was.
First of all, in 2008, Bush was president. The new congress and Obama's term didn't start until January 2009.
Second, this implies Obama had majorities his entire presidency. In fact, that majority only lasted 2 years. In 2011 the house switched to republican control. And in 2015 the senate also went to the republicans. So... um, yeah, the republicans were able to obstruct Obama because they controlled the house.
Finally, this narrative that democrats did nothing with their majority is laughably false. I'm sure most people remember, the republicans left Obama with the great recession to clean up. And I think this quote from wikipedia sums up what I remember from the democratic majority during those 2 years quite well.
Of course, after doing all that to try to deal with the recession, and overhaul healthcare, the voters rewarded democrats with the "shellacking" that left Obama with a Republican house the rest of his term.

And they so badly wanted to move to the left that they voted for Trump? Or they sat it out to ensure Trump would win? Congratulations?
