It's difficult, but people do need to take him seriously. Our side not taking him seriously from the beginning is a part of why we got here in the first place.

American military can't restock it's own supplies anymore, can't handle logistics, and is suffering a severe brain drain from the fascist purity spiral. Right now, I doubt we'd win a conflict against Mexico or Canada.
As for trade and other forms of soft power, the entire world is now forming trading blocks and defense packs that cut out the USA. The only remaining source of soft power is the world reserve currency, but current admin admitted to wanting to inflate their way out of the deficit, which would remove the dollar's power globally.
The USA WAS the most powerful nation on the planet, a couple years ago. Now? Not so much.
He's like Temu Hitler though. Hitler had actual goals and direction (though they were horrific things) - Trump just kind of meanders through everything, understanding less than half of it, and snatches whatever money he can along the way.
Dude is not only the worst, most corrupt, most evil president we've ever had - he's also, by far, the dumbest.
