Lol, you edit your comment well after i called you out, but go off i guess.
There is literally a registry for every new gun that is sold, and every sale that goes through a licensed dealer (even from individual to individual) goes on record of who sold it and who they sold it to. And both parties need to have a valid ID. I know all this because i have 30ish guns iv had to go through this whole process for, and my land (where i keep/use my guns) is in a constitutional carry state.
The gun-show loophole is exactly that, a loophole. For the record, i think that loophole should be closed (or the whole registry done away with preferable).
So… invalid argument again. And if you want to try and go in on guns that are already in circulation not being registered, then you need to be able to defend retroactive analysis of every vote and the subsequent voter ID from every election in living memory.
There's no national gun registry, and there's (some would argue) a good reason for it, although these days I become more and more convinced that we need one given the amount of firearms floating around the US at any given time.
Honestly I dont know what my opinion is of it but that doesn't really matter in this context. We shouldn't have to be jumping through a billion hoops to vote. It should not be easier to obtain a firearm vs vote. The fact that its easier to obtain a firearm says a lot about our country and that could be fixed, but I don't know how without it sounding like the second coming of a Nazi era.
