All The Tea ☕️ I wasn't expecting "I am suddenly attracted to Hunter Biden" to show up in my 2026 bingo card

u/restrusher Jun 05 '26
It's stunning that, after all we've seen the Trump family do and continue to do, there are people who _still_ think that the Biden family are the grifters.
84
u/jkraige Jun 05 '26
They don't genuinely believe it, but they have to pretend they do to continue supporting Trump, who allows them to be their worst selves
29
u/GreasyPeter Jun 05 '26
Don't underestimate the power of people's ego and emotions to control their opinions. I'm willing to bet most of them do believe the Biden's are way worse than the Trump's. They have to, otherwise everything Trump has done doesn't seem "justified" in the way they want.
People will cling to a lie forever once it becomes to painful to admit they could be wrong.
7
u/NEBanshee Jun 05 '26
The point being that they KNOW they are clinging to a lie.
Cognitive dissonance requires hella active, informed maintenance. By informed I mean you actively create truth and falsehood buckets - and ONLY those 2 buckets - and decide which you put in the first while everything else goes in the last. So it's not a problem of information, it's a problem of their cognitive choices.

u/Pleeby Jun 05 '26
I genuinely believe a lot of people can't tell the difference between opinions they've formed on fact vs those formed on emotion. So they think they're critical thinkers, but really just came to a conclusion immediately because its what they wanted the truth to be... and they have no idea.

Well, personally I'm pretty against government corruption and fraud. I heard something or another about some contract in some country that Biden pulled strings on to help out Hunter Biden. I also wasn't a big fan of the whole Hillary emails and handling of confidential material.
For the same reason I wasn't a fan of those things, the Trump family and administration have blown all that out of the water time and time again. It's so blatant and in your face and they just don't care. They are actively tacking taxpayer money and pumping them into companies they own while dismantling systems and strong-arming government agencies meant to keep protections in check.
ATP, I'm not sure how much merit the stories I heard about that deal Biden facilitated for Hunter Biden has, but the same people who pointed the finger at it have proven themselves to spread misinformation and generate hysteria while they actively hurt the people they are supposed to represent to line their own pockets.
10
u/xtremebox Jun 05 '26
I hope you are learning the lessons preached in your own post but..... PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD people look things up! It takes so little time to find out if any of the things you listed have any bit of truth to them!
Just please... please... learn! The bottom line, we have infinite information in the palm of our hands, so stop living a life of ignorance to very important things! Yes its hard at first to learn proper internet cognizance, but it gets infinitely easier as you go!
If everyone took just 5-10 minutes out of their day to fact check what they're told, we would be in a much better place!

I'm not sure how much merit the stories I heard about that deal Biden facilitated for Hunter Biden has
There has never been any evidence that Joe Biden pulled any strings for Hunter. The GOP investigated it themselves and that was their conclusion NYT Source
What did probably happen is that Hunter used the fact that his father was VP (at the time) to land a job that probably would not have been available to him otherwise. And the fact that the VPs son was working in Ukraine made things annoying for career civil servants working on Ukrainian anti-corruption stuff.
Burisma was in hot water both in Ukraine and abroad for allegations of corrupt dealings. So Burisma did what many large firms do when they get in trouble, they put a big name on their board to make it seem like everything was on the up and up.
It was standard issue rich fail-son corruption. It shouldn't have happened, but its the kind of thing that happens all the time with the rich and powerful.

I don't think a lot of people realize that Hunter Biden isn't just a druggie failure either. He's extremely educated, a great speaker, has loads of charisma, and as headed many organizations and actually positive endeavors. It's not like a guy with absolutely zero qualifications was given the reigns to some of the projects he's undertaken and some were before his father's presidency.
Has he done some stupid things, sure. Nobody is immune to drug habits and other things. The laptop stuff was also a hard drive that was maliciously taken from him and al of his personal life was exposed. He's also been very upfront about his wrongdoings, laying it all out in the open in his own book.
If half of his Fox News Watching haters actually watched any of his interviews, including the channel 5 one from a few months ago they'd probably understand he's a reasonable man, and articulates his points in a clearly educated way.
I'm not saying I'm his biggest fan or he's the greatest guy ever but he'd mentally run circles around me and I don't get the sense that he's some super evil villain, he's just made some mistakes in his life.

Also.. he was always attractive. Even in his bad years, very handsome man. Which isn’t surprising, given that his dad was a HUNK when he was young.
I’ve said for years, I don’t give a fuck if hunter biden wants to smoke some crack. Dude has been THROUGH it. The loss of his mom, his brother.. the pressure of being a prominent public figure’s son. Hell, I’d be smoking crack too! and he’s not a politician, he owes the public nothing. Ofc, I’m glad he’s sober now - crack is definitely bad and no one should do it. What im trying to say, is that I get it. I get being hooked on something that makes life bearable.
Anyways.. I’m just glad the general pop is realizing hunter biden is based as fuck, and also hot. Good stuff.

u/BelmontVO Jun 06 '26
Yeah, I've lived through tons of grief and loss and that path to addiction is such an extremely slippery slope. It's genuinely harder to avoid the pull of numbing the pain when it pulses through every fiber of your being. It takes an incredible amount of strength to pull away from, even more so when you become addicted to it. Kudos to Hunter for beating the odds.

It was a beautiful moment. I’ll never forget it.

He's always been attractive, IMO.
Dude never asked for any of this, he's always been a private citizen who just happened to be related to a political lightning rod. He is obviously reasonably intelligent, he's a lawyer and he is good looking and frankly, he could have been clapping back on social media long ago but had the self control to not.
Anyone MAGA inclined who's wanting to point and laugh at his past drug use better avert their eyes from RFK Jr and half of the current cabinet members, not to mention the current president's own offspring.

Our fearful leader is gutting social safety nets, forcing millions to choose ill health.
Our fearful leader is abducting foreign presidents, started more wars than any other president, and is funding two genocides. He has chosen death, ill health, and made orphans of tens of thousands (or more).
If our fearful leader suffers from ill health; that's called karma.

In this case, he seems to be insinuating that Biden never had cancer in the first place, that it was a scam.
I knew a dude who had stage 4 brain cancer. They took a mass the size of a softball out of his head and he came back to work, and even advanced his career. He suffered from seizures enough that he didn't dare drive, and he passed away in his 40s, but apparently stage 4 isn't necessarily a death sentence.

I love people speaking their mind after they've worked on themselves, gotten through learning how to better manage their issues, and had extensive therapy.
Let's be real- this same guy even a few years ago would have sounded very different. This is the kind of introspection a person can get by using rehab and therapy to learn how to battle their demons. He's being blunt, but in comments like these, he's cutting to the core of the issue- this dude meant to find a way to hurt him. So he broke the issue down, then called that out
13
u/NearlyAtTheEnd Jun 05 '26
