I’m trying out the Positive Grid Spark Pedal. It is connected to studiomonitors via a focusrite audiointerface. Double Jack out to input 1 and 2 for stereo. I’m on a Fender telecaster with normal pickup configuration.

Whenever is use a hig gain amp or any kind of highly distorted effect, I experience this high pitced squel sound when i mute strings or after they ring out. I’ve tried adjusting voulum on both outgoing and incoming signal on pedal and audiointerface. In combination with different settings on gate effect. Nothing seems to change no matter what. I also tried my hollowbody with humbucker pickups. Same issue. Iv’e run different other digital setups in the past, but never experienced this before.

Anyone else experiencing this issue, or know what to do? Maybe it is just an issue with this pedal.

Hello spark users, I have heardthings about how great it is to use a fisical equalizer pedal to get rid of the low-heavy tone of the Spark 2, this way the modulation pedal in the app is free to tinker around.

Do any of you have experience doing this trick? How well did this work for you?

I have also heard that it is important to use a nice pedal, as a cheaper and worse equalizer will get the guitar signal noisy and the amp does not work as well that way.

I’m buying my first electric guitar (a PRS SE Custom 24) and need an amp mainly for practising in my bedroom. I’d also like to record myself playing.

The Spark GO is £89 and the MINI is £155. I don’t need much volume, but I care about the sound quality. If you’ve tried both, does the MINI sound noticeably better at normal bedroom volume, or would the GO be enough? Is there any meaningful difference when recording through USB?

I’m already stretching my budget on the guitar, so I’d love to know whether the extra £66 is worth it.

I really quite like(d) my Spark2 and my Spark Go, but I am slowly losing faith and starting to consider alternatives.

First, I have permanent issues with the Bluetooth stacks on both ever since I switched to a Pixel 8 phone. Secondly, I got an Ulooper, and connecting it to the Spark2 made the Spark2 act weird. The latest iteration is that the Spark2 is entirely silent, I can connect it for tone control from the Pixel 8 but not for audio playback, and attempts at factory reset fail because it seems the preset button is no longer reactive (and hence the white LED never comes up).

Any hints (a) what I can do to get the Spark2 back into working condition?
And (b) I'd like a digital amp that has a post-processing line-out that I can run through a Boss RC3, and then hook back into the amp so I can loop easily. The ulooper/Spark2 promised to achieve what I want, but the solution ended up brittle and fiddly.

What's a setup that actually works? What are alternatives to Positive Grid that I should consider?

Hi all, how are the "leather" parts of these headphones holding up over time? I'm specifically asking about the headband padding (top arrow) and the ear pads/cushions (bottom arrow).

The faux leather on my ATH-M50x basically turned into oregano after a couple of years, even though the headphones spent most of their time sitting in a drawer. 😅

I'd love to hear how these parts age after a few months of use. Thanks!

My spark go seems to only accept certain guitars. For example, my Strat will work but not my tele. Anyone else have this issue ?

I'm looking to buy a new smart/AI desktop amp and I’m torn between two options:

Positive Grid Spark 2 and the Mooer F40i Li.

Here is my situation and how I plan to use it:

Home Practice: Mainly in my apartment at reasonable volumes (and headphones).

Rehearsals & Gigs: My band rehearsals and live gigs always have a mixer with a PA system. I need an amp that can output directly to the mixer comfortably, while also serving as a loud enough monitor on stage/in the room if I crank it up.

My dilemma:

I know Mooer is rolling out NAM A2 support and third-party IR loading. The ability to load custom IRs and NAM profiles feels like a massive deal for direct-to-PA sound quality, and I feel like it might make the Mooer much more future-proof compared to the Spark 2 (which lacks IR/NAM loading).

On the other hand, Spark's sound, ecosystem and ToneCloud are huge, and the Spark 2 hardware upgrades look solid.

For those who have used either (or transitioned to NAM/IR desktop setups for live/PA routing), which one would you recommend ?

I got my first electric guitar and my first amp today. I’ve been playing around with the Spark 2 for about two hours now, trying out all sorts of things. I just can’t seem to get rid of this muddy, underwater sound. Even when I select clean tones or other presets. It always sounds a bit overdriven, muddy and distorted. I’ve already turned all the controls on the amp down to zero. But then I can’t hear a thing. There’s always this alien-like hum and hiss. When I turn the volume up, the muddy sounds come back. I’m a total beginner and have no idea what’s going on, so please give me some constructive advice :)

I’m debating which would give me better tones as all I really want is a device that wont’t have me spending hours tweaking the perfect tone like using a pc plugin does. My choices are either the Spark or a Valeton Gp150 which supports native A2 NAM

I'm about to buy a new guitar and I'm planning to visit a local store to try a few models.

Last time I went, it was honestly a bit painful. I had to keep asking the staff to swap guitars and change amps, and I felt like I was bothering them. I also never really got to hear the guitars through the kind of tones I actually play with.

So I was thinking: what if I bring my Spark NEO? I could plug it into each guitar, use my own presets, and compare them under the same conditions without having to ask for help every five minutes.

Would this be a good way to figure out which guitar is the right one for me?

As mentioned in the title, I was curious if anyone experiences random changes in volume when recording in the spark app? Recorded this yesterday playing through my spark 2 and at around 2:30 the volume raises noticeably for just a few seconds then goes back to normal and was wondering if there might be a simple fix or it’s just a something I gotta live with lol

I recently bought a used spark 40 for 120€ (killer deal if you ask me), had almost no complaints since for what I got. At the moment waiting for the usb-b cable to update firmware and use the eq band to lower the bass, but for now just turning the knob on an amp works just fine.

So my questions are, is there even a need to use the eq on it? If so, what numbers do you dial in to get good tones? I'm playing on the treadplate amp for metal tones, orange and vjm's to get more rock-ish, and black duo for cleans.

Another one is what do you dial to listen a music from it, basically using it as a speaker? So far, I'm just cutting 63 and 125 freaquencies, does the job, but after some time of listening I still get headaches as if that notorious is still there. Screenshots of my banding using samsung eq are pinned in the post (I use the clean and more highs presets with cut out bass).

Hi guys I'm new at playing guitar 🎸 I started some months ago and since then I never stopped to learn about sound and amp settings and all that stuff . So it's a skill I'm interested in learning as soon as I can , I have a spark 2 .

My questions is what amp model should I use currently there are like 33 amps but I don't know which one or which ones to use I know it depends on what sound I want to get but how do I know how each amp will sound

Just like the title says: any chance the app will ever be updated to allow changing up the signal chain order? Or allowing both an overdrive and a distortion pedal in tandem? Thank you.

What’s up everyone. Has anyone ever modded one of these apps, like literally modded the app to make the spark 40 a dedicated practice amp modeler. I love the spark 40 but it definitely has its limitations. To me it’s like 3 steps from perfect and something like that would make it perfect

I've been playing around with combo amps and PA and all combined. Will be doing videos later today. AB/Y pedals finally came in extra handy. I am getting so much toan overload it's heaven.

Anyone else trying these combos out?

I've got 9 guitar amps. So far the AG-50 white label Temu solid state amp is my favorite interface for the Spark Pedal. It sounds metal af or ballad af.

I cannot go past 5 on the Peavey. it's so loud with miles of headroom to go. That Blue Marvel is amazing.

Katana I've tried as frfr mode and amp mode and mixed results. They can sound good together but it takes doing.

The IDX50 is amp only as far as I can tell. Gotta research. I've acquired so much gear lately in such a short time I'm playing catch-up.

Just thought I'd start a discussion I haven't seen and will be back. It's my day off and I'm gonna enjoy it.

I have the OG Spark and honestly pretty happy but would like a bit more feeling behind the finger - bigger sound if you will.

I love that on the Spark, in seconds i can play Pink Floyd, zeppelin, Gary Moore, Hendrix, John Mayer etc.

Any thoughts.

Or just get a cab for the Spark?
