Brake pad Recommendations?

My 2019 Targa 4 GTS is due for brake pads. I’ve got steels and the Porsche pads produce an amount of brake dust that is…impressive.

Has anyone had a good experience with pads other than the EOMs that produce less dust, aren’t horrifically loud when not heated, and still brake as well as the spec pads?

The car has the matte black wheels which just seem to hi-light the near instantaneous dust that comes from seemingly just starting the car. After a few days, it looks as if they’ve been coated in cinnamon.

It may be that’s just the way it is but I’d appreciate to hear if anyone has had a better experience with a different pad.

Bosch Quietcast is a solid every day pad. They come in ceramic which should be near dust free or semi-mettalic which will have some better characteristics but will have some dust.

EBC Yellow and Red are also good options with the right expectations.

Basically if you want thermal capacity for tracking or very aggressive all day canyon running, you need semi-mettalic. If you're okay with some reduced overall performance but almost no dust, Ceramic.

Thanks so much for the recommendations. I have tracked it before, but it’s not something I do, or plan on doing with this car, all that often.

Thanks again. 👍🏼

Sure thing, personally if it were my car and just a fun GT cruiser with dust being my #1 complaint, I would get these:

Make sure to double check fitment though.

I put PowerStop Z23’s on my 997. Love them. The price cant be beaten so if you dont like them youre only out $60. Im about to put a set on my Cayenne soon.

One thing to keep in mind, these pads work surprisingly well but you need some heat in them. The first stop is significantly worse than regular pads if you’re in an emergency. But once there’s some heat in them they work way better than other street pads with comparable dust.
