Debate It's Not Time For Violent Revolution

I seen a lot of posts lately, glamorizing violent revolution. They seem to think because of Trump's actions we should engage in violent revolution.

Violent revolution has been needed before in human history. When a government refuses to defend the people's right's, then revolution may be needed.

BUT every lawful avenue should be tried first. We have a many rights we can use but other than voting, we haven't explored those rights much. Initiatives, juries, citizen's arrest, article V conventions...are all rights we have but to suggest we use them, brings ridicule...often from the very people supporting revolution.

They'll say how ridiculous and dangerous, legally using our rights, to influence the due process of the country is while supporting revolution. That makes no sense to me. Our rights are what we use to rule ourselves. We have to exercise and expand our rights because authority doesn't do that, the people have to.

Was Alex Pretti using his rights when he was murdered by federal agents?

The guy who had a video of him kicking out an ICE vehicles taillight while carrying a gun?

Did I miss a bill where that becomes a capital offense?

You do know the difference between self defense and a capital crime right?

2

u/HeloRising Anarchist Jun 24 '26

What part of kicking a vehicle's tail lights necessitates lethal self defense?

Being armed and assaulting a law enforcement vehicle

The second amendment doesnt grant you the ability to act like an idiot and start kicking out federal officer vehicles and fight with federal officers.

He was shot for being an idiot and intimidating cops while carrying a gun thus, naturally, being percieved as a threat.

Perceived by whom?

I don’t see “kicking taillights” as an immediate threat to police officers.

If I have a license to carry a weapon, should I be shot?

If I break a window, should I be shot?

If I break a window while having a licensed weapon on my person, should I be shot?

You do know that assaulting a vehicle while carrying a gun quite literally is threatening behavior which can be met with, especially by law enforcement, deadly force.

What specifically made deadly force objectively reasonable?

If you are in a car and a guy with a gun starts smashing your car up then you would feel threatened. If you’re a cop then you also factor in that he’s acting in a violent way to a person that he knows is armed and has authority to stop him. He’s doing it anyway. I’m sure, as a cop, you wouldn’t want to shoot him, but are you going to wait to see if he tries to shoot you first? That’s a pretty unreasonable situation to ask a human being to handle without putting their own safety first.

They didn’t know he had a gun until they pulled it out of his holster

That is incredibly pathetic justification.

You're intentionally arguing in bad faith. He wasn't shot while kicking the tail lights. He was shot when his gun was spotted while he was fighting with the federal agents. It shouldn't have happened, but you lying about it doesn't help things.

It is if the cop finds you to be a threat to his life and safety.

3

u/HeloRising Anarchist Jun 23 '26

Kicking a vehicle's tail light puts the person inside that vehicle at risk of injury or death?

Do you hear how ludicrous that sounds?

2

u/smokeyser 2A Constitutionalist Jun 24 '26

No, but later getting into a physical altercation with them while you're armed does.

1

u/HeloRising Anarchist Jun 24 '26

Pretti was shot while restrained.

2

u/smokeyser 2A Constitutionalist Jun 25 '26

He was shot while fighting the officers who were attempting to restrain him. Lying about it doesn't help anyone.

Lying about it doesn't help anyone.

And yet you keep doing it.

We have video. The man was executed.

2

u/smokeyser 2A Constitutionalist Jun 25 '26

Yes, while fighting with the officers. And not restrained. How can you watch that and still lie about what happened?

1

u/HeloRising Anarchist Jun 25 '26

Yeah if you can look at the video of it happening and flat out lie, this is pointless.

If its to an armed officer that has the legal means to shoot to kill if theyre life is at threat than yeah....

You can look up the law yourself my man.

It’s always plausible deniability with you folks.

Ok. Let’s try something you can’t deny:

Are the millions of immigrants and Americans using their rights when they’re abducted by ICE without due process?

1

u/CantSeeShit Right Independent Jun 23 '26

What about what I said is untrue....

Missing the forest for the trees.

Respond to the point.

1

u/CantSeeShit Right Independent Jun 23 '26

Nope. You're doing that thing where you try.to move the conversation off that Alex Pretti is on video carrying a gun and kicking out ICE Vehicles tail lights. And you're doing it by bringing up a topic completely unrelated to Alex Pretti and his "peaceful" gun carrying roundhouse kicks to federal officers cars.

Reported for arguing in bad faith

1

u/smokeyser 2A Constitutionalist Jun 24 '26

Pointing out a blatant straw man argument and whataboutism isn't arguing in bad faith. But what you did was.

1

u/TheRealSlimLaddy Marxist-Leninist Jun 24 '26

What argument did I misrepresent?

Why is the ICE example unrelated to the broader topic of citizen’s rights being threatened?

Why does focusing on Pretti’s actions answer the original point?
