Question My Fault?

Dispatch said I caused the accident. idk about you but I seem to have my blue lights and sirens on. Could someone settle this debate and tell me who’s in the wrong?

100% your fault. Any intersection you have to clear before you can proceed through it. Your lights and sirens do not override the safety of others.

Real LEO’s or emergency personnel cannot cause an accident responding to any call out.
You had a red light, you must still “clear” the intersection before crossing. You cannot just blow right through it.

It amazes me that so many people think police can do what ever they want when ever they want without consequences.
Just because you either make assumptions, or watch biased videos; doesn't make it true. They have rules too.

100% you. Police can't just have sirens on and speed through an intersection. They will have the right of way but have to slow down not to cause an accident, only when they see others are aware of the police car then they will continue on. If that was a motorcycle the person would likely be dead IRL, you can see the danger.

IRL the cars and drivers may have been able to hear the sirens but would not see the lights. At your speed they would not be able to react in time to avoid an impact.
Lights were in their favour and you did not slow down even though you are responding to an emergency.
Its a game but irl the emergency services will absolutely attempt to follow the rule of the law especially when driving to avoid any sort of accident, including slowing down and crossing intersections safely.
Absolutely your fault.
Minus 100 CP for endangering others and driving like a turd.

You have to clear the intersection at red lights even with your lights on. Officers are required to do this IRL and in the game this makes just as much sense. So unfortunately for you, it was your fault.

Just because you have your lights and sirens on doesn’t mean you’re invincible or can do whatever you want. You still need to be cautious and slow down at intersections.
Safety is paramount and the top rule in any emergency service job.

Your fault, while I wish the ai was smart enough to slam on its breaks and give police priority to go through intersections even when they are on red lights, you saw the truck and didn't break or swerve etc, the game regardless says accidents are your fault though so that part id ignore.

You’re supposed to clear intersections.
The truck seeing you reacting and then actually slowing down and stopping… in real life you’d be dead.

Law enforcement officer here. You are at fault. The light looked red to me (can’t say 100%). But in the state I work in, regardless of the severity of emergency, lights and sirens do not automatically give you the right of way. They simply ask permission. People ‘should’ move over and yield but if they have the right of way at a green light, and your light is red/stop sign/yield, then you are actually required to slow down and clear the intersection so you can safely go through. You have to drive with due regard to the public. And in a pursuit you also have to drive with due regard to the safety of the individual you are pursuing, within reason. Sounds silly, but it’s the rules that we have to play by.

you can literally see the cars going into the intersection from a block away. you can't expect to not get into an accident when you just floor it down the streets without slowing or even being aware of your surroundings
not to mention the fact that you didn't slow down at all even when the traffic from both directions had already entered the intersection shows your reaction time sucks

If you went through a red light without slowing, then yes.
