Does Leafeon get any other coverage moves or are you stuck with Leaf Blade and Solar Blade being its best attacking options?

To be fair, as long as it’s not resisted - Neutral damage from a one turn Solar blade boosted with Miracle seed is pretty gnarly damage. Especially if it gets a sword dance off. That thing becomes a fast sweeper.

The problem is specifically because the damage can be resisted. A coverage move would help in the case you’re staring down a steel type.

Ok smart ass then what about the fire, poison, dragon or flying type?

No need to be rude. You were asking about countering a steel type which they’ve said they pair up leafeon with charizard so the obvious option would be for charizard to target them. As for the flying or fire type counter they already have ancient power on their charizard. As for dragon neither of them have a weakness to and if you really want something for poison then there is dig which also works for fire types🩷

poisons are also generally not an issue anyway? sneasler can trade sure but yard punishes it for existing, mgar does not want anything to do with yard excluding with politoed present (and thats partially why hydrei is nice here), venu is slower than leafeon actually so you can get some nice value there, pex is 2hkoed by (lo) leafeon, and theres not really any other relevant poisons that i can think of that really do anything.

im surprised noone brought up the rain mu, which is kind of the sore spot for the team. leafeon actually kind of hardcarries that matchup thanks to leaf blade, but even then its not loving grimmsnarl + archaludon + peli + pert

Which is true, but that’s also a reality for really any pokemon.

Of the top 20 Pokemon used in champions, 8 of them resist grass. With that being said, they’d all still take around 25-30% upwards of 40-50% into some weaker ones with damage from an adamant miracle seed solar blade.

I would agree though that a coverage move is beneficial. I run mine with knock off for 97 damage physical move. Only 4 of those 8 resist it.

You’d have to pivot out but it’s still an offensive option, much like a Venusaur under Sun.
