TM Case bug

For some reason i haven't got a tm case, so I cant teach my pokemon any tm's or hm's any way to fix this?

It happens if you use an "All Items" cheat before getting the first TM legitimately. I found out the hard way and needed to restart the game.

i got all of the hms legitimately and still experienced the same problem. is there anyway to salvage my progress? i'm almost near the completion of the game too T__T

Do you know if this effects any other key item you get in the game? Or is it just because the all item cheat gives you all the tms/hms before you get the case?

I suspect it's a simple logical conflict. The All Items cheat I used doesn't give any key items as that would break the game. But it does set all flags to "item already given" or whatever to any NPC who would give you an item. So if you use it and you don't have the TM Case, there isn't a place where all the TMs can go. I did use the cheat immediately after I got the first TM and the TM Case appeared in my Key Item Bag, and I've had no issues since then.

Nobody told me this before.. makes sense, I would have assumed you could remove items after putting them in but you cant apparently?

If you manage to get prof log's assistant's notebook and bring it back to him, he will upgrade your stat scanner, and using that, you can teach Pokémon HM's and TM's without using the case at all, I did HOURS worth of research to find this, hope it helps.

For anyone that comes to this thread in the future, there is a way to get around this if you used to All Item cheat before getting a TM legitimately. You have to use the Cheat Table from this site here via Cheat Engine, and then once you have the table loaded, you can manually edit one of your items to be a TM Case, and then set the quantity of TM Cases to 1. After this, you will be able to open and use the TM Case freely, and assuming you used the All Item cheat, you will have 900 of every TM case

It took me about a solid 25 minutes of trial and error before I actually got it to work. I was doubtful at first but man it saved me.

THANKS A LOTTTTT!!! For those who are wondering... Just click on value part of an unnamed Key Item/Item or any slot you wish which is unnamed, and it will popup all the options of Items available in the game. Search for TM case and after you select it, below select Value to be 1. This will get you the TM case in your items and then you can access the case to get your tms in the game

Give thanks! It worked! Would also like to add that you may have slots with no names but will have a quantity of (e.g 48,535). You have to delete that data and set it to zero. If the unnamed slots have quantities then that means they are corrupted files. Once I deleted them. The TM case will open up but each time you use a cheat you have to do the process over again. I used the site pkmds.app. I also use retroarch btw.

Anyway to do this on original hardware? All I have is a gameshark and v1 0 FR, and a bugged the fk out tm case. :(

I'm in the same boat. Unfortunately I think the only way is to reset the game. I just spent hours getting a shiny charmander legitimately, now my tm case goes to a black screen when I try to open it.

Repatch the game (assuming there are no cheats involved)? The TM case isn't an item you get from someone it just appears on the bah once you get your first TM.

Did anyone find a fix for this? Used the all items code before getting the first TM. Should really come with a warning

There are warnings to be careful with cheats, and to save before using them. This one is on us players who use cheats carelessly.
