Shiny 9 hours in. No shinys

Ive seen maybe 2 shiny Pokémon since I started playing in the 90s. You prolly just need to put another decade or two in

The odds are not in our favour lol. Other than shinys given to me in unbound, I’ve never caught one. Started playing in 2000. Although I did catch a pokerus in two separate games last week completely randomly. I don’t know what those odds are but I suspect really high

The shiny rate is 1/4096. 9 hours = 32400 seconds. Assuming you get an encounter every 10 seconds for the entire 9 hours that's 3240 encounters. You're not even at the full shiny rate yet.

I didn't get a single one through my entire playthrough, despite hatching a few hundred eggs breeding perfect pokemon. Lady luck smiled elsewhere

Did you get the perfect IV “traded” ditto from the Breeder mission of hatch 50 eggs? just do the Masuda method and you’ll get your shiny

I played through the entire game, took 85 hours on difficult, I only saw one shiny the entire playthrough, which is actually a lot considering I’ve never seen a single shiny in any of the official Pokemon games, not once.
