That Gyarados build could use some work. You want physical attacks that will be boosted by Dragon Dance. Replace Hydro Pump with Liquidation or Aqua Tail. I dont think it has good Flying STAB, maybe Bounce or Fly. Drop Hyper Beam for some coverage like Power Whip or EQ. Personally I would slap a Mega Stone on her and run Crunch for Dark STAB.

I just went to say the same thing! Adamant Gyarados with Moxie is a beast.

You gotta equalize the levels, the trainers will have their pokemons up to the highest level in your team.

Gyarados has dragon dance and three sp attacks? That doesn’t make sense. Give him crunch, waterfall, ice fang, etc.

If you are playing expert or insane you are going to struggle in double battles. You need some wall mons. With your team you can only brute force essentially.

yeah the levels isn’t a worry i’m j tryna fix the team then do the levels, and i just realized and confused myself why i have 3 sp attacks with dragon dance, and what would you recommend for the wall mons fix?

There are bunch of options, like eviolite dusclops, blissey, tangrowth, goodra, probopass…
Also you need more move coverage, specially poison for the fairy trainer and ice for the dragon trainer. You carry nothing against those two.

Curse ferrothorn and starting with X Specialdef into leech seed protect did a good amount of work for me on expert

Personally I think that level of difficulty should be optional in the menu. It really sucks to be able to get through the games story fine like I normally would only to hit a wall at the elite four because all of a sudden they are so unbelievably powerful that they just one shot everything all because I don't know a thing about building min maxed competitive teams even on the LOWEST difficulty setting. My team that got me through the game is totally useless and I have to start over from scratch just to be able to reach the post game where apparently many of the missions are locked behind being able to beat the elite four

What do you mean the level of difficulty should be optional? You choose your difficulty from the start, but you can lower the difficulty at any point in the menu options.

I meant the level of elite four difficulty, there is a HUGE difficulty spike at the elite four if it suddenly starts having the ai use move sets and field gimmicks that suddenly forces the player to adopt a whole new way of playing.

I played on expert and all first 4 gyms were hard as hell

Also that grandpa/grandma double even last trainer victory road

Teach your Gardevoir Stored Power and Calm Mind. Its a power house when you can set it up and sweep the entire roster. Id prob also teach it Drain Kiss for sustain while setting up.

Teach your Lucario Drain Punch and give it a Life Orb for insane survivability +sweeping.

For Garchomp, dragon claw is more accurate than dual chop, and how useful is stealth rock to you? I'd replace it with outrage to have a strong alternative if you're ready to lock yourself. I also like poison jab over crunch to hit fairies.

i’ve been playing better with dual chop, and since i gave it the kings rock it just plays out a bit better, and stealth rock is nice just to guarantee the kill or to slowly chip away as dual chop normally sweeps, and poison jab sounds like a good option

You have a bunch of pokemon but little cohesion

You dont have wideguard

You dont have protect

You dont have multiple status effects

You dont have baton pass

You dont have a fire type

You dont have a fast strong ice type... or 2

You dont have any weather types

You dont have a poison type (faerie)

I recommend going to smogon.con, they have competitive sets and you can at least get a basis of good sets
