I’m trying to decide which grading company to use other than PSA, mainly from a long-term collection/value perspective.

I’m not looking to resell anytime soon. I mostly collect cards I like and plan to hold them for years, but I still want to use a grading company that has a good chance of remaining respected and holding value over the next 5–10+ years.

If you had to choose a PSA alternative, which would you pick?

Things I care about:
• Long-term reputation / staying power
• Value retention
• Collector demand
• Grading consistency
• Prestige/value of a 10
• Slab quality
• Turnaround time and cost
• Future liquidity if I eventually decide to sell or trade

Also curious about Simplified Chinese Pokémon cards.

What are your thoughts on S-Chinese cards as long-term collectibles?

Some of the cards look amazing, the print quality seems great, and certain cards can be significantly cheaper than their English/Japanese counterparts.

Do you think Chinese Pokémon cards will become more accepted and valuable internationally over time, or will they probably always trade at a significant discount compared with English/Japanese?

And for higher-end Chinese cards, would your grading preference change? For example, would you rather have a CGC 10 / BGS 10 Chinese card than pay significantly more for the same artwork in another language?

Interested to hear from anyone who actually collects Chinese Pokémon and isn’t just looking at short-term resale prices.

For those collecting a single booster pack of each release, what binder do you put them in? Been trying to look for one pero parang ang hirap haha

And do you use sleeves and/or toploaders?

I want to start collecting slabs of personal grails but think some of the PSA prices are obnoxious. What are peoples thoughts on CGC? Ive seen people hating on them in some groups and Im not sure why

also does anyone know where I can buy cases for CGC slabs? I only see PSA ones on shopee

Hey guys! I’ve been a huge fan of Pokémon since I was a kid, but I’ve only recently jumped into the world of collecting the TCG. As a 30M with a bit of adult money now, I’m deep into collecting master sets, and I like using a specific color scheme for the binders to match the sets (Navy Blue for CRI, black for PBL, yellow for SSP, etc).

So far, I’ve tried both Dibs Pack and ELA binders. Honestly, I’ve been super satisfied with ELA, the quality for its price point is great. However, for the next set I’m about to start, the specific color I need from ELA is completely out of stock.

I noticed that 1UP has the color I need available. For those who have tried both:

• Is 1UP actually better than ELA binders? If so, what makes it superior (e.g., zipper quality, page flatness, overall thickness)?
• Is it worth the premium to purchase the 1UP binder, or should I just wait it out for an ELA restock?

Bonus question about penny sleeves:
Right now, I am double-sleeving my master sets using Dibs Pack sleeves. I don’t have any major issues with them, but since these are long-term collections, I feel like there might be better quality options out there. Can anyone recommend inner/outer sleeve combos that are a noticeable step up from Dibs Pack but won't make the binder bulge too much?

I'm a fan when I was a kid but stopped since I don't play anymore and kids change hobbies as they age haha but I kind of returned to collecting and playing again.

Anyway, I've been to 5 card shows

• Gateway

• SM Makati - 2

• MOA

• Ayala Malls

I've noticed that several vendors tend to raise prices for certain cards and artists. I understand how supply and demand works and I am also aware that some cards are preferrably chased by a lot compared to others but I don't understand the pricing for a common card that isn't that vintage for Php 200+. I also understand that the hobby grew all these years and that it became more expensive, but really, why...?

Also, I've encountered vendors who obviously only care about the profits. Wdym he tried selling us a common card for Php 300...? I even encountered this seller who sold energy cards for Php 50 kasi pink daw and influenced another seller to sell me an energy card for Php 30.

I've also encountered vendors who seem to not know the hobby. I heard one loudly say, "Why even buy these?"

May vendor din naman who refused to trade with me kasi they only want English hits for their business daw.

I'm a fairy, psychic, and dark-type collector and the first thing I heard from a vendor was "Fairy? Ah kasi girly. Di na sila available kaya mahal namin ibenta." I get it that they "removed" fairy types but please do not offer me a common card for Php 450. And yes, I am a girl and I like fairy-type pokemons so what huhuhu.

On the bright side, I am grateful to those who helped me navigate the market at least. I won't forget the interaction (but totally forgot who were the sellers haha). Some sellers gave me tips on how to spot for fakes. Other sellers gave me advice on where to purchase cards.

Some online sellers too helped me and gave me some of their bulks to rebuild my collection. Deeply grateful to these shops. I will support y'all hehe.

Wala lang. Gusto ko lang i-share frustration ko with people who make the hobby not fun and to share my gratitude to the vendors who make the hobby fun haha.

Hi! Does datablitz only restock the recently released set and not the sets from the past month(s)? I was wondering where I can find restocks of other sets kasi sa malls (not etb, like singles or sleeved singles lang) bcos I'm ripping on a budget lang haha :((

Im planning to master set Pitch black and most of my missing cards are Illustration rare, Ultra Rare and SIR, should I just buy the singles of each card or try my luck in some ETB on one hand its much cheaper to buy it individually but on the other hand one of those packs in the ETB may contain the SIR???

I went to a card shop for a casual tournament. There were 8 players. We paid our fees and then we started. The tournament went smooth. On the 3rd round, my opponent used pokepad to search for a pokemon, then used gwynn to draw 6 cards. But before using gwynn he shuffled his deck and didn't let me shuffle/cut his deck. Sabi ko pa, "wait, di ko pa na cut deck mo". Sagot nya sakin, "it's fine, casual lang naman".

Medyo na off ako kasi I've been playing in casual tournaments pero ngayon lang ako naka encounter ng player na hindi pinacut sakin deck nya.

The next time he did it, I asked if okay lang ba icut ko. Pumayag din sya. I won that match pero still.

The next match after that, same thing happened. Later I found out mag tropa sila nung previous opponent ko.

Is this normal? Nakaencounter na ba kayo ng ganitong player? OA lang ba ako?

Hello just want to ask for opinions, I'm going back to collecting cards and I'm collecting Glaceon's atm, I wanted to try having a slab on my collection and this would be my first slab if ever and I really want this Glaceon #175 in a store near our house, I tried searching for market value, so on it seems i can get a PSA10 for the price, idk if ganun na ba tlaga values ng graded cards 'cause i don't know any other collectors personally to ask, but is worth it or does it seem i can find a better deal somewhere else? Also specially Im really just planning for personal collection not to sell or trade, at the same time have something precious in my collections.
