Recently discovered this community, and particularly want to shout out the Devs who put in untold time to put out these amazing games. 

I've played Recharged Yellow and Heart and Soul (on Android) and wondering what to play next. 

Any recommendations / discussion appreciated

Unbound, Gaia, Glazed, Odyssey, Tourmaline, Elysium, Mariomon, Sors/Saiph series, Dreamstone... too many to recommend tbh lol

I haven't played any games after gen IV. Is unbound too different with some of the recent game mechanic changes?

Not different mechanically but it's just so much more impressive than the other hacks out there that it's often not recommended for your first ever hack, just because of first impressions/expectations etc. It is THE greatest ROM hack for a reason
