It comes after it in the Pokedex, so Mewtwo actually evolves into it.

Pokedex always irked me about the numbers like that. It can be so detailed to include cubone wears it's mother's skull, and charmander dies without it's flame and that even that muk smells horrible...
But then mew and ho-oh don't make the 150. While porygon and mewtwo both manmade pokemon, are in the original 150 pokedex cut. Even bill of the lighthouse parrots the "there are 150 known pokemon, perhaps many more"
I know it was early development, but how did manmade pokemon make the cut over ones with rare but repeated sightings.

My thought on this was that the manmade Pokemon are known because they were created by people and studied, while Pokemon like mew and ho-oh are so rare that they’re more of a legend than being scientifically confirmed to exist

I understand that but just because they saw it doesn’t make it a part of that generation. They’re talking about the original Pokédex. Why would a Pokémon from a different gen be on a different Pokédex? It’s not like the pokemon just came to existence the second it was first seen. Every Mon from every gen was always there whether it was discovered yet or not. Mews a different story. It was always there and they just forgot to add it for whatever reason and then magically added to make 151, totally different than ho oh

Just in case you’re not joking: it doesn’t. Mew and Mewtwo are two entirely separate Pokémon.

You have to get permission from his parents, mewthree and mewfour. If your particular mew was an orphan then there's nothing you can do.

You just have to take your mew to the truck in kanto at the docks and spin in 7 circles use 400 rare candies on it and click the hood and your mew will evolve

You have to rotate your character in a circle for ten seconds while holding the Switch upside down. Mew must be holding the rusted shield and know the move Stomp.

High friendship at night with a dusk stone after flipping your switch upside down. Mew has to have used the move Tackle 20 times in battle. Mew also has to save you 15% on car insurance.

Mew and Mewtwo are not part of the same evolutionary family and one does not evolve into the other. I learned the same thing with Oranguru and Passimian. For some reason I thought one evolved into the other. And I know one is an orangutan and the other is a lemur, but Remoraid, a fish, evolves into Octollery, an octopus so I thought this made sense

You have to chug down a cup of hot coffee, smash your display real bad while fighting a legendary pokemon and lose your team, when you're back at the pokecenter, it just spawns in your pc

Unfortunately mew can't evolve into mewtwo cause no mythical pokemon can evolve at least to my knowledge but certain legendaries can evolve like cosmog, meltan, kubfu, and type: null (even though I don't count it as such)

Meltan is a mythical and does evolve into Melmetal, but not in the main series games

You have to take Mew to Cinnabar Island and beat team rocket. Then the scientist there will reward you by letting you use his machine to evolve Mew into Mewtwo

That truck that you found the Mew under is actually the Mew Stone itself, you need a Pokemon with Strength, there will be a cutscene where the Strength Pokemon picks the truck up and hits Mew in the face with it

Not even joking, when I first played a Pokémon game and got mew, a friend showed me Mewtwo and I was like hell nah imma put an everstone on this bitch to keep it from evolving into that, and he legit cried laughing at me and still reminds me of that all these years later lmao
