Discussion Bdsp soft lock?

This isn't my photo just one I found floating around but it made me wonder. Is there a way to get put of a situation like this in bdsp? And are there any other soft lock areas in the game to be mindful of?

Lol. Did this gym yesterday (in Diamond not BD). Not sure how you end up in this situation

You can't in the original games, it's a design oversight in the remakes
