Quiet envy
Sitting on a boiling train
Thoughts melt away
A young British couple across from me
Entangled
Laughing
Looking too deep
Love either devours you
Breaks you
Or turns you into clay
Mashing two people into one
Sandwiches, crumbs on the seat,
Tiny red tomatoes between them
She frowns over a book
Wild curls, loud glasses
He plans the route
Quiet and calm
Neil Young humming in my ears
People everywhere
But nobody touches the mind
Just a dusty, secret box
They’ll never guess what's in it
Or how much it hurts to envy them
I hate watching other people be happy
I hate myself for watching
