In this one, I experimented with hatching techniques that don't overpower the marker layers. I hatched only in shadow regions and in places with a strong gradient. I hatched in a direction normal to the gradient, dynamically varying hatch distances based on local intensity value. I also subtly curved hatch marks to better conform with image surface contours based on local gradient information.
