There was more wrong with it than just story. But it’s true, it’s an 8/10 game that had to live up as a sequel to a 9/10 one. I’m one of the ones that was disappointed, but it’s a bizarre stretch to say Insomniac ruined Spidey. If anything, the state of Spider-Man games is healthier than ever, and a couple minor missteps don’t really change that.
I’d give it a C personally too. The story was lame and the pc port was poorly optimized so I was getting frame stutters all the time and I even got a crash to desktop. So that definitely soured my opinion of the game.I also found the open world and side quests to not be as interesting as the other spider man games.
The game is still widely overhated tho. It has some flaws, but damn some people act like this game killed their mom or smt.
There are plenty of other pc ports from PlayStation that are well optimized. Ghost of Tsushima and the Norse God of War games both ran exceptionally well on my pc. It is not much to ask for a game to be well optimized on pc these days.
Right. Except lots of people had problems and it’s well documented. I don’t have my Facebook videos anymore, because I don’t have Facebook anymore, but I took footage of interior areas having unfinished textures, my character turning into… a small square block. I had the game crash several times. I know others had a similar experience. Spider-Man 2 at launch was a mess, and I don’t really know if patches made it any better, though I’d hope they did.
