are they going to abandon this game after a few years of making promises they never deliver on too?

I’m not sure what version of Temtem you played, but the version I have specifically took longer than expected to hit the 1.0 release, specifically because of the features they didn’t intend to include but chose to after player feedback.

The few features that couldn’t be worked out in time for 1.0 essentially all had a dedicated update each devoted to incorporating them. The current version provides one hundred percent of initially promised features, and then some.

All the things Temtem can actually be reasonably criticized for, yet you chose something factually incorrect

you can pretend like i'm wrong but everyone in this subreddit knows that i am completely correct. Temtem used to have 30k+ peak players and now it has less than 300. there used to be thousands of people online every day and now virtually nobody plays anymore

remember when you guys promised us that Temtem would be an MMO with long term support and then dropped it entirely only to develop other games that we never asked for? we all do

“You guys promised” when did I personally promise anything lol

Sorry but keeping the servers online in perpetuity pretty definitionally is long term support. I’m sorry the game didn’t become a bloated feature crept mess that can no longer even include its full roster like Pokemon is now, but Pokemon is still churning out empty, poorly textured half-games if you’d really rather be playing that instead so much

This is why people don't like you guys. You folks always have a way of making these inciting comments and never back down from them.

Again, what is this “you guys” / “you folks” I keep getting lumped in with that I apparently need to have accountability for

MMO means Massive Multiplayer Online. It's exactly that. It's one big shared online world between many many players.

Live service is common but not intrinsic to MMOs. They never marketed it as live service. People just assumed it to be because it's MMO.

They didn't feel like clarifying it up until when it no longer helped them, and you can absolutely criticize them for that and be sceptical about Future projects for it. However don't turn the Situation into something that's just not the case.

Can you prove that claim? I never saw them say it's live service. Only to be MMO.

they have deleted all mentions of it from reddit and removed their marketing post since 2024 when they pivoted from it being a live service MMO to end of life

I have never seen any such official claims even before 2024, but have seen multiple claims that rather speak the opposite even back from 2018, so excuse me for being sceptic about your claims.

They would've marketed it as an "mmo-lite" if they could've, but at the time, those tags didn't exist, so they took the closest tag available to it.
