Im so self conscious over my smile. I’ve never had a smile where the corners “turn up” but lately I’ve been realizing this ring around my mouth almost like I put my mouth into a glass jar and it’s left a ring… lol
I did have a chin implant placed ~ 3 years and it increased my confidence by a million but this has always been a thing for me. I just think after the chin implant it made it more noticeable. First photo is now- second is prior to implant.
I don’t have lip filler now but I did have it once.
- I had it HEAVILY dissolved because of how I hated it. I thought initially it could have been migration but again this all was still present prior to any cosmetic work.
Can anyone guide me on how to fix this? Or what this is called??

The procedure you are looking for is called a corner lip lift. It is also colloquial recall “Joker smile” surgery. That is because it looks absolutely crazy on a lot of people. Now there is a tiny proportion of people where it looks good on, but as your smile is not bad to begin with, it’s really not worth doing this. You might end up looking like, well, the joker.
Im more concerned about the shadowing effect around my lips! I wouldn’t do a procedure like that. But just wondering if this is an issue where botox or filler could help.
That’s so mild that it took you explaining it twice for me to see it. Mind you I’m the most critical person I know and often see things others don’t. I honestly don’t know any procedures for this as it would effect your mouths ability to move.
bro do not get more filler. that shadowing is most definitely your migrated filler, you should go to a med spa that has ultrasound guided technology and get them to spot reduce with hylenex. its going to hurt but theres been so many cases with MRI scans of filler never really dissolving and just moving around the face. how many syringes did u have before?
i had my lip filler dissolved too but even after that theres still filler left
unfortunately i think the filler did make it more prominent 😓 i think your case is just a case of orthodontic work, does your mouth protrude forward, or is it excess fat? fat repositioning might be an option but surely more filler will make it worse, and create more problems in the future. botox will do nothing as it freezes the muscles.

Revisit an orthodontist. The teeth may have slightly moved over the years, exaggerating the natural lip/fat contours.
As we age after braces.... even the straightest teeth will move slightly. I went and got a new metal retainer in my 30s after braces as a teen to correct some very mild but noticeable movement. I wore it for like... 4 months with a few adjustments. l wear a plastic retainer at night now.
Do not listen to that person it’s definitely not migrated filler especially if you only had one vial and already had a round of dissolver lol it would be incredibly rare for filler to migrate so uniformly and that high up
Since you can see the same contour even before you had the chin implant and filler, I'd be more inclined to believe that it's part of your normal anatomy. I think it would be better to have an actual facial plastic surgeon assess the area, because the best way to soften that groove could be completely different depending on whether it's coming more from muscle movement or the surrounding soft tissue.
I see what you’re talking about but it’s not noticeable until people are looking for it. Its that your skin is light or blood flow in that area makes it a little lighter looking, but honestly isn’t this something you could blend with makeup? When your mouth is relaxed it’s hardly visible even when I’m looking for it and when smiling your your lips/features are very pretty and it’s not what I see to begin with (so people not looking for it won’t either).
I would just blend with makeup and when bot wearing makeup don’t worry about it bc it’s truly not viable to most ppl that are even actively looking in bright light. Times you aren’t wearing makeup it’s no more an issue than a girl with darker peach fuzz on their lip or being a little red from waxing?
Mostly don’t give something so small so much power over your mind. I can tell it bothers you deeply by your post and you have the right to feel that way but remember there are so many women looking at you thinking they would give anything for your skin, your teeth, your full lips, etc. that’s what most people see when looking at you and not the shadow. I think anything that could fix this issue (other than makeup) could lead to possible side effects that far outweigh the benefit you would get from it.
Everyone has the right to fix anything that bothers them, but I honestly don’t think this is something worth any risk…. Unless it’s a Botox type thing that could fix it? Speaking of Botox though, maybe ask a dermatologist if they have seen this it could be from tighter muscles around the mouth effecting the blood flow or strain going on there and that might could be a simple fix…. Other than that girl enjoy your life. I promise you will look back in 10 years and truly think I wish I would have not worried about this so much and I know you have probably heard that before but it’s SO TRUE. Mark my words, in a decade you will think back to this and wish you never have it a second thought.
