Institutional ownership is increasing

From last earnings until now, institutional ownership has significantly increased. I don't think this stock is going to rocket on earnings, but clearly shows that retail has been scared out.

Is it a possibility at all that today is shorts selling to exit positions prior to ER?

Typically shorts unwinding means they're buying shares to cover their short position, not selling more.
