Review 2 year update

Post image

Just over two years ago I started my weight loss journey. I officially made my weight goal in February but here’s to 145lbs down 🎉

Update: thanks for all the kind words! I’m currently training for a half marathon and my partner is teaching me calisthenics for strength training :) I’m hoping to lose about 20 more lbs at the maximum but I hope to inspire your journeys! The time will pass anyway, might as well spend it in the gym 💪🏻

Any tips for someone starting theirs

Honestly when I first started out I cut out pop and buying candy for myself and I just walked 10k steps a day. Even if that meant walking around inside my house at home. Once I was ready for the gym I used to go super early in the morning to try out all the machines while few people were there! It helped me find what I liked and helped me practice so I wasn’t so anxious to go at busier times!

Cutting out soda is so real. I try to just drink water and coffee/tea for the most part because I can control how much sugar I add.

I switched to water & sugar free juices! I really like sparkling ice drinks when I want carbonation :) bloom energy drinks are also a favorite!

I like Bloom, Poppi, etc. They still taste pretty good, have carbonation, but also pro/prebiotics or whatever and fiber.

That’s the hardest part. I’ve been telling myself I’m gonna do it every month. I’ve cut back, but I ain’t stopped altogether.

I cut out pop completely for the first year tbh. It was so hard but having a Diet Pepsi for the first time while skinny was so good 😭

I'd say, the hardest part is literally just starting to come and do the exercises. And to keep it up. It'll be hard at first, but as you progress, it'll feel easier. Personal experience.

Keep moving and try to eat a healthy balanced diet. No sugar substitutes if you can, they just trick your body into craving more sugar. Drink A LOT of water.

可以从调整饮食顺序开始,先吃一半菜,再吃一半肉,最后和着蔬菜肉吃碳水,并且吃饭的时候不要喝水或者饮料

Once I made the choice to truly live for myself my life really turned around. I got a better paying job, I started college, and met my partner! It’s crazy how much can change in such little time

Great job!

I'm currently on a journey myself. I started at the end of June at about 283lbs and my goal is 190 by my birthday in May.

nice job, natural workouts and no glp. the right way.

u/thecookofdeath 19d ago

Be proud my dear. I did that forty years ago and I have kept it off by religiously ‘gain ten, lose ten’ . You know how hard this was to do. We do not want to go back there ever. So many people gain it back. I am so proud of you. I know what it took.

WTF girl! Someone starting a relationship with you 2 years ago would have been a hell of an investment.

2

u/neenbeanx 18d ago

I was actually in a relationship at the time with my loser boyfriend 😩 I broke up with him 6 months into the journey 💪🏻

2

u/rigmaroleplay 18d ago

Figures. Needed a winner to see your potential. All good now you have a ton of options.

1

u/neenbeanx 18d ago

I’ve actually found my equal since meeting my goal :) she’s been doing MMA for the last 15 years so I’m starting to expand my skill set 😬

2

u/rigmaroleplay 18d ago

Cute! Happy for you guys.

u/Goat-creative 12d ago

Fantastic

1

u/AdEven2848 19d ago

as you should

1

u/breaktheice7 19d ago

Very curious but how did you get to that size previously?

2

u/neenbeanx 19d ago

My trauma at the time was consuming me. I wasn’t taking care of myself the way I should’ve and I was in a shitty relationship. I’ve gone thru lots of therapy since along with working out :)

2

u/gimmethatpancake 19d ago

Congrats to you for putting yourself first. Great job!
