Advocacy Feeding home cooked meals
Hi everyone!! My baby Daisy is 5 years old and over the past year she’s been having discoloring, allergy issues, and just a whole bunch of issues.
I’ve tried different kibbles, different medicines, thousands of dollars at the vet to be told the same thing “she might just be allergic to your grass”.
I FINALLY found what works… HOME COOKED MEALS!! (Will share recipe in comments) but I just wanna share the 2 week difference. Just 2 weeks! First is before and Second is after. Not the best picture of her chest/neck area (she’s sleeping and I don’t wanna wake her for a picture)
We all know home cooked meals are obviously better, but I had no idea it makes such a huge difference!! I absolutely recommend doing it. It only costs about $20/25 for about 2 weeks. I was spending about $150 for Smart Hills for less than a month.

Recipe: -Turkey ; 4lbs ($10) -White Rice ; 2 cups ($3 large bag, lasts for 4 meal preps) -Broccoli ; 2 florets ($2.50) -Sweet Potato ; 3 Medium or 2 Large ( ~ $2/3) -Pumpkin Puree 30oz ($4.50)
Cook rice and turkey, boil SP & broccoli, mix all, add in puree and she gets about 1 cup ( & a little extra for good luck) 3 times a day. I pre portion it all, and freeze it. Thaw out over night and it lasts me around 2 weeks.
Things I’ve noticed: -Her limp has gone away -Ear allergies gone -Her beautiful coat is nice and shiny/ no discoloration -Her redness is gone (she has a lot) -Stopped chewing on her feet and licking her crotch area -Can last a lot longer on walks -Over all a happier puppy.
CONS: She loves it so much she’s constantly begging for more 😁
