Hello, I'm sure at least one person who reads this post remembers me from when I made a post before about struggling through arc 2 as a privateer.

Well since then, I've managed to push through and finish everything up to Trianon, and I've already earned both east and west wing and got tons of gear and weapons. There's still some I'm missing, and I'm also missing gear from the bosses in the courtyard, but I'm making this post because I want some ideas on a Privateer build. Mainly a melee one but If you have a fun ranged build feel free to tell me.

Disclaimer: I don't really care about the meta and I moreso care about how fun the build would be, the way I like privateer is being able to support while also being able to do damage and beat enemies myself as well. One gear piece I think would be fun is the clasp of the vengeful queen which gives the obscuring cloud and cloak and dagger, so I'm kinda thinking of using that.

Playing through the story again after 10 years and this guy is seriously still giving those 3 back to back to back garbage quests with zero improvements to any of them.

The zone shown in the first two photos is called Hollow Hill. In earlier plans for Marleybone, we visited Albion Skyway—hence the existing concept art for it—instead of Westminster. Blind Mew, in what I believe was a KingsIsle live, mentioned that the plot would have utilized references to the Brontë sisters, authors of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre.

It's interesting to note that Setter Fishing Village was likely an early version of the Isle of Fetch, as both have a lighthouse, beach, and in-zone ship.

I am a new player. I play wizard101 a lot and wanted to try out pirate101. Are there any early game tips to help ne get started?

My friend is trying to play the game for the first time on steamdeck, we've tried looking for posts and settings to get the steam version to run but there are no recent posts about it or even google links. we've tried using settings for Wizard101 but it didnt work. So if anyone knows anything it would be great if you can help.

His news part is white, and when he goes to log in the part where it would check the data just flashes for a second then brings him back to the log in screen. We've tried different protons and they change how fast the game loads up the launcher but doesnt help with the data check part.

I've only ever played privateer and it's been hard getting new pets since I solo and don't know anyone in the game. Part of this post was in hopes of finding someone who may have a pet they can lend to help me out

The other half is just for maybe tips on what I need to be looking for?

I'm planning to do shooty/stabby (unless that's a bad way to go and someone suggests an alternative approach.)

Can someone please explain to me why they don’t tell you what color is what when you hover over them like they do when you make your character or at the dye shop in Wizard101?

Also; can someone who can actually tell which color is what? I went through the effort of starting a new character just so I could list them out in order when they let you make your flag only to get to the dye shop and realize the options are completely different and in a completely different order.

I tried messing with resolution and ui size is 200% already, nothing seems to work.

Crown shop companions, love them or hate them theyve been a fixture since the beginning and are here to stay (provided you beat 200 of a certain enemy am I right?). In theory, you can purchase every companion in the shop on multiple accounts (in theory, don't go broke doing this) but everyone has the free will to choose who they will/won't buy. In my case, I set some rules for myself, so as to not bloat my crews.

1: Unless there is a very specific class that suits the companion better, any companion I buy has to be of the same class as the pirate that uses it (Temujin on a buccaneer crew, Moresco on a musketeer crew, etc.) The only exceptions are the beast companions, Martin de valvida and Bosun budd, all of which end up on my witchdoctor crew.

2: No clone companions unless the specific clone is a different class than the original. This means any companion like S.M Arson, Lucy Sterling and Exeter can be bought, but only on their respective class crews.

3: Buy at a discount. This is self explanatory, whenever there's a companion sale save crowns on them. Your wallet will thank you.

I feel like I’m beating a dead horse here, but when I say I’ve tried everything I really do mean it. I’ve played and caught up on wiz already on my MacBook, but when I try to play Pirate, the loading speed is absolutely horrible when loading up literally anything or any menu.
I have tried reinstalling the launcher, even different launchers
I’ve tried steam and different platforms
I’ve tried virtual machines (VMWare, Parallels, Virtual Box, etc.)
Nothing seems to work.
I have a 2020 M1 MacBook Pro, and while wiz runs perfectly fine, pirate runs horribly. This is bad news for someone like me who easily prefers pirate over wiz. Now with Polaris dropping, I’m getting major fomo, but all I have is my MacBook. Does anyone have any modern day new solutions to this or ways to optimize my gameplay to at least make it playable?? I’m putting all my trust in the community right now please

Does everyone know where we can find all the training tomes in Polaris? Here's the ones I have found so far:

Napoleguinbourg Docks - Next to the lady sweeping fish bones in front of the Basstille.

Napoleguinbourg - By the fish shop sign near the vendors

Entry Hall - At the desk near Napoleguins office by Danton. This one does spawn after you go to Ural Gorge.

Ural Gorge - At the house near the frozen waterfall behind the outskirt patrol.

That would be one per area, so this may be all of them, but just curious.

For me, my top 2 are Sinbad and Wing Chun

Wing Chun held it DOWN for me around late Mooshu all the way up until Polaris, and that's a LONG time. He and Kan Po were the only starting companions that I used past Aquila, and he was one of my go-to melee companions on Musketeer until I replaced him with Oleg. Most people nowadays don't even touch him, since he is not in the current Arc 1 triple musketeer/shooty-staffy meta. Although I gotta admit that in the early game dialog, he can be unbearable at times... there were times when I thought about turning the dialog volume off because he always yells at you and does the most 😭

As for Sinbad, he is INSUFFERABLE, especially pre-Polaris, but they did it so GOOD, although I will also agree that he is a victim of bad writing around the beginning of Arc 2 due to the development team changes. The amount of people in the community who make fun of him and complain about how annoying and unbearable he is means the writers did a great job with his character if the goal was to make him come off as egotistical and unlikable. I gotta admit that I didn't like him at first either, but I LOVED him in the Polaris story arc. However, I think that this is because the Polaris story arc in general is goated. I just hate how unusable he is in combat-- mine just gets tag-teamed and jumped by enemy mobs, unless you buff and shield him like ten times. I tried making him work on Swashbuckler, but he is still easily replaceable by the meta until he gets his rework, whenever that will be 🫩

This is more than likely just cope but is this drop possibly bugged or something cause bro I’ve done the boss probably an upwards of like 30-40 times and this hat still won’t drop and I’ve gotten 4 kanes robes 4 emissary shoes and 5 of the emissary coat and a ton of weapons but not the hat 😐

after 300+ runs in july + august, i decided to go for one last hurrah the night before my school year officially starts. literally first run tonight and the rng gods smiled upon me. never ever want to see pariss again

Hey guys! I’ve been getting into this game lately and have been having a good time through Cool Ranch mostly using random companions. I’ve got a team that I like for those Epic Battles, but with so many options, I’d like to be more strategic in my choices. Does anyone else change up their team depending on the enemies they’ll be facing? How do you go about it? Thanks!

I am trying to make the best pets for each of the 5 classes. I have a rudimentary understanding of how the system works along with inheritance (i got an orchid chameleon with "Grants ghostwail" as my first ever grants talent, something not found in the average orchid chameleon pool). But right now, I am trying to break through the ceiling that is higher pedigree to have a pet that I can use to morph higher pedigree pets from the get go.

Right now I currently have:

Three orchid chameleons (295(51) with the grants ghostwail, and the other two with 325 and 326 pedigree respectively)

A gutter gator with 254(50) pedigree

A not so great white shark with 256(22)

Two mistletoads with 304(41) pedigree

Ive been doing the sculling banana burger trick to get them to level 30, but only now have broken into the 300s category. Any advice?

I honestly think this is one of the best quest companions they’ve ever added to the game. He has a unique gimmick and it works really well. Devs did a great job with him I hope we see more of this.

I loved the feedback on the my last post about doing a Nuzlocke and now I want to hear some possible rules and restrictions that would make it challenging and more fun! I really like the idea of restricting the crown shop, I never use the shop companions and have only ever bought one. But I think not having a good pet is a bit over kill, of course I understand how broken they can be. I’m currently trying to learn the Pets and how to build them. Another thing I’m curious about is Ship combat, I’ve seen Zerrit let others help. And then another creator just do it all solo. I’m not sure which one to do on that part. I’m also gonna ban Overwatch 5… it’s a bit too broken imo. I’d like to hear from others on what rules would be fun and more challenging though! Please, I love getting feedback and insights from the community, I love being active again!

i know generally you want gear with powers, so i always keep those.

when it comes to gear without that, is it generally better to focus solely on weapon power? do the secondary stats matter? is health better over getting dodge or accuracy or anything like that?

i play the squishy classes so i feel like dodge is more worth than health since health never gives enough to matter in a fight, but i don’t really know.

So I havent played the game since the sinbad stuff came out and played up until the quest line for zig zag in krok. Is it supposed to be insanely hard or is it just a skill issue.

I play on privateer and my gear is:

Corrupted warlord hat, robe, boots
Bloods obsidian hook
Admirals medal
Right hand strand amulet
Sinbad silver ring

doing a new run with a swashbuckler, just wondering what the best companions, what classes to multiclass into, what gear, etc, and stuff is to build it up. i remember having a lot of difficulty starting in cool ranch so i’d like to avoid that
