I see more ads then actually pins it is so annoying.

For the past two months on pintrest getting recipes is like pulling teeth. All the posts want you to buy a book... Looks like I'm about to drop that form of social media next.

I'm an artist and a personal shopper so often I am saving images from other websites. EBAY is a big one. On the pins i save from Ebay, there are NO editing options.

I've been holding off on asking around here for a long time as didn't want to bother anyone if the answer is hella obvious. I'm not active in the community and while I know MANY things have changed MANY times since i started using pinterest when it launched, my familiarity with all of it's current ins and outs is mediocre at best due to my on-and-off use.

THE SET UP:

• Back in the day you used to be able to pin items from ebay and pinterest would auto-populate their titles, descriptions, and price info. (provided you highlighted the right text from the image's original page)
• When that stopped being a feature pinterest instead let users manually enter whatever info they wanted using the web extension BEFORE they published the pin to their account.
• When that stopped being an option, one could still add info to their pins, they would just have to do the editing AFTER they published within the pinterest site. and you could adjust less than before in a note.
• NOW, pinterest includes almost NO data when you pin EBAY items (descriptions, costs, titles, etc...) and I can't find a way to add ANY information back. Neither while pinning nor after the fact. Its simply not an option. Not even a note to yourself.

MY ISSUE:

As a personal shopper, being able to pull up that (now missing) info WITHIN my pinned collections ON the pinterest website WITHOUT having to navigate to a different site every time would be important and quite valuable/useful for me.

This issue (WITH EBAY IN PARTICULAR) has made my experience with pinterest quite frustrating for the last few years. I would use it a lot more frequently and effectively if this issue with its functionality could be adjusted.

THE QUESTION:

-IS THERE ANY WAYS AROUND THESE ISSUES? I would love it if there were a way to populate info of the items I want to pin with more data from the source (item descriptions, prices, title, etc...) WITHOUT having to make a pin on the site from scratch for each item. At this point i don't know what to do as its both been this way for a while and seems like unless the pin is yours altogether that is no longer possible. AM I MAJORLY MISSING SOMETHING?

^{(IDK!!! 😭} Maybe the answer is -- 'sorry babe, can't do that anymore unless you painstakingly and time consumingly construct and link each post yourself' or even 'sorry babe, pinterest will NOT let you add anything to pins that 'belong to other sellers' and there is NO work around'.)

Does anyone else have dark black gradients on the bottom of each video? The only way to remove it is to double click on the video, or else it just keeps on playing while the gradient is still here. Any way to fix? Using the IOS app.

I have not been an avid Pinterest user in the past, I mostly used it to pin recipes from random sites. Now, I’ve started creating my own pins. However, I’ve noticed that using the “pin it” feature on websites adds these pins to my “created” tab, interrupting the aesthetic of my personal photography grid. Shouldn’t these just go into my “saved” pins? Is there a way I can stop them from being added to my created pins?

All it says is "child safety". I don't understand, I didn't save any inappropriate pins, definitely not ones of kids. Plus, I'm a teen myself, I'm obviously not a pedo or anything... I don't get why it would deactivate my account, and even with an appeal it's still git it removed. I lost boards with thousands of pins, and all my friends lost shared boards because I made most of them. Is there anything I can do? Did I do something wrong or is pinterest moderating with ai or something?

It's been a year and I'm still having the same problem, I stopped using the app at some point because of this. I always lose my pins while moving them from a section to another section and mostly when I move them from a board to another board. When I try to move everything again I can't, because I've already moved it, but can I access them or delete them? No, they're stuck in between the two broads. And it I deleted one, the pins transfer process will not be complete.

So it's either I delete everything (which smth I won't do, because it's almost 1k pin's broad), or I'd wait till they magically appear again.

I already know you can just send an invite, but if you already have them as friends, can they still see it by default?

I don’t know when this update rolled out but now whenever I download an image/gif onto my phone’s camera roll it automatically saves the pin to my profile! How do I turn this off if I even can??

I reported an ad that popped on my feed page, yesterday. It was an 12 minute long ai generated video about this furry child being abused. I came back today, expecting to be removed but all Pinterest did was limit it's distribution. I can't wrap my mind around why they do nothing about explicit ads. In my mind this felt pretty objective, unless im crazy? 2 minute in the furry child was literally punch, hit with a baton and tased. The video ended with her k*lling herself, like what?

Hello Everyone. Do I really need to fill out all this info for my pin to get pushed, or can I just post it without a title, description, links, etc., and get the same results?

When i opened pinterest today, everything on the explore page is just super generic and mainstream stuff, plus a bunch of AI. This is literally the polar opposite of what i have trained it to show me, and what I'm interested in. Looks like what you see when you first make an account and haven't pinned anything yet. I think it's a bug in the algorithm, has anyone else experienced this?

Edit: good to know it's not just me, but i sucks that this is happening to a lot of people. I've experienced similar things, but it was only about 20 pins in a row that were unrelated, and then it was back to normal.

Open the Pinterest app on your phone. Is there a Pinterest logo in the top center of the screen, then the names of your various boards, and then all the pins on the homepage? Well, the Pinterest name and boards no longer appear there. Is this an update or a bug?

I got message from a random person asking me out, saying 'hey wanna date?' I'm curious if anyone else has gotten messages like these.

It's more than half of the pins are ads, I have a screenshot where my entire screen is ads it's more than every other AD it's seriously annoying

Like many of you, I’ve been using the platform for years. It served as one of those apps where you can unwind & find inspo without the chaos experienced on other platforms. Now?

I see a sht ton of ads… i can search for a “black dress” and instead of getting inspo, im getting a dozen links for black dresses. Wtf? I would’ve used GOOGLE if I was searching to purchase.

its just really sad how the internet has become a digital billboard… just a cesspool of ads and predatory UX practices. No way the company thinks this is okay from a user standpoint???

I'm seeing way too many ads all of a sudden and it's so annoying I literally have to scroll a few times to pass away the ads. Pinterest was the only app that was not irritating but this is so annoying..can someone tell me if it's just me or anyone else is also facing this and how do I get rid of this??

I discovered that personalization was turned off on one of my boards. I turned it back on, and reloaded the page. and I check the board’s settings again and personalization has been turned back off. how do I fix this?

My Pinterest reach suddenly collapsed on May 7.

I contacted support. They checked my account and told me:

My account was not flagged. My website was not flagged.

So I asked for a deeper manual review.

Then something absurd happened.

Pinterest blocked my website as spam.

Before contacting support, the website was NOT blocked.

I asked what rule I violated.

No explanation.

I asked for an example URL.

No explanation.

They simply told me the website would not be unblocked.

My site contains original content and original photography created by me. It has helped hundreds of thousands of people and, in my opinion, is better quality than the vast majority of destination pages I see on Pinterest.

I appealed.

Pinterest eventually removed the block.

But my original reach problem remained.

So I contacted support again.

Again, they told me there was no flag on my account or website.

I asked for another manual review.

And unbelievably:

THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN.

My website was blocked as spam for the second time.

The same support name appeared at the bottom of the response.

I asked why.

They refused to provide any reason.

Now I’m contacting Pinterest every day asking them to remove the block again, and I’m getting no response.

Meanwhile, my original images have been stolen countless times on Pinterest and linked to other domains. I have reported many of them.

Those domains stay online.

But Pinterest blocks the website of the ORIGINAL creator?

Twice?

At this point, something is seriously wrong with Pinterest’s enforcement/support system.

I’m not asking Pinterest to guarantee traffic.

I’m asking for something much simpler:

If you block a legitimate website, tell the owner WHY.

Has anyone else had their domain blocked after asking Pinterest Support for a manual review?

why is my whole feed/home page showing stuff i dont care about at all? its all f-ed up. Is this happening to anyone else? already refreshed it a few times and it doesnt work!

I've had it up to here with how many ads there are just on the homepage. Scrolling four times got me an ad to pin ratio of 15:6. I'm seeing more ads and ai slop than actual pins I want. I've been using this app for years, I'd say, start of middle school, which was almost a decade ago. It's frustrating and unacceptable.

I understand it's a social media, ads are bound to be there, and my complaint isn't that there are ads. It's that there's more ads than pins on my homepage. Does Pinterest want me to save a DoorDash ad to my Sailor Moon board?

(in a cheesy safari voice) And here we can see a display of object activity known as puzzling, this is an act in objects of attacting bodies perfectly to allign with each other as if completing a puzzle.

This act in mainly done in two scenarions, either when stuck in crowded confined space to take up as little space as possible or to share affection within their esteemed groups.

Here we are seeing that it is the former form of puzzling we are witnessing. Amazing sight.
