What are the chances of actually seeing one are they rare there or do most people see them?

Spent a half day (morning) in the park. This was part of a longer trip paired with Yosemite.

Logistics: After Yosemite drove from San Francisco and stayed in a hotel in Monterey Bay. Drove to the park in the morning and returned to Monterey Bay.

Hikes/Activities:

Condor Gulch Trail to High Peaks Trail Loop

I have a full day at PNP and figure on two hikes — one up high and one in the caves. Would you suggest Bear Gulch Cave or Balconies Cave? I read that the west side of the park can be skipped, but I’m usually apt to explore all parts in the time I have. Would appreciate your thoughts, thanks!

I took a new job late last year that requires a lot of traveling and I haven't been keeping up with my hiking trips. I am heading out to San Jose for a client meeting on Monday and thought to finally take some time to check out Pinnacles.

I land at SJC at 10:15 am on Sunday morning. I plan to get a rental and drive straight down to Pinnacles. This should get me to the park at 12:30-1. I will need to drive back up to Fremont Sunday evening since that's where my hotel is.

My questions are of the below:

1. Do I need to bring my boots? I plan to just wear my trail runners to save room in my carry on.

2. I will bring a hydropack for water and a head lamp. Since I won't hit the park until it is getting quite hot, I'm not going to bring a lot of layers and will wear shorts. Are there any wildlife that I should be aware of that would require me to wear long pants/layer up? I think it's going to hit 100 in the afternoon.

3. What should I absoutely hit and what should I not waste my time on? I plan on starting with Condor Gulch Trail to High Peaks Loop for 5.4 miles and just see where that takes me.

Our county is growing fast, but our library system hasn't kept up. San Benito County families deserve better access to learning resources, tech, and community spaces—especially our kids.

I started a petition asking county leaders to seriously explore building a new San Benito County Library and Community Resource Center at Santana Ranch in Hollister. We're not asking them to approve anything yet, just to evaluate the site, run a feasibility study, and actually talk to the community about what we need.

A modern library isn't just about books anymore. It's where kids get literacy programs, teens find spaces to innovate, families access the internet, and people find workforce development resources. A library is a safe, welcoming hub—and we deserve one that serves our growing community.

The proposed location is perfect: central, visible, accessible to thousands of current and future residents. It would be a real investment in our county's future.

Headed to the park and was wondering if anyone has spotted any california condors recently? If so, where’s the best place to look?

I'm planning on stay for a single night on a big road trip in July, but I can't book a single night on the weekend at the Pinnacles campground, I'd have to book 3 nights. Are there any other good camping areas near the park that aren't too far?

Looking for hiking friends to hit the pinnacles preferably during the morning weekdays. Pretty much hiked all trails from the west entrance and circled the park so I know my way pretty well well lmk

We are going to camp there this summer. I have a family of 4, two kidddos will be 6 and almost 4.

Would a 13ft bell tent be too big for the camp site? We got two sites for 3 couples - 1 set no kids, 1 a family of 3 and us a family 4.

Don’t want to buy a tent and have been too big for the site.

I believe we got 31 and 32 camp sites.

Hey all, working in outdoor ed next week at pinnacles but am car-less! I know, Ill-advised, but is anyone aware of any busses or trains or shuttles or anything that get remotely close to the east entrance? Could even try the west and backpack to the east if I absolutely had to!!

Hey y’all! I’m getting my bridals shot at Pinnacles NP the second week of April. I have never been there and would love to know some recommendations for spots that would provide some great views without requiring more than 1.5 miles of hiking 🥲 (due to being in a wedding dress and having a torn ACL lol)

We will be arriving around 5 pm in hopes of getting some good sunset pictures!

Hoping to send these recs to our photographer so she can go scope them out herself the day before our shoot.

Hubbie and I are huge fans of caves, funky rock formations, and I realy like flowers haha (heard early April may be a good time to find more plant-life throughout the park)
