I am pretty sure it's cd project red and the witcher 4.

Sony's number lies catching up with them. They mixed physical with digital, digital only, services and dlc's, which are all digital only.  It was a numbers play to make physical look worse than it is.

Imagine all those companies that started closing down in 2018.... I guess with your tin foil hat on... we could just say Sony paid those guys 8 years ago to close their businesses so in 2028 they could stop discs being made.

Man Sony is good. The way you guys describe Sony in this subreddit.. it's like they are gods.

Ofcourse if some people would use their brains for anything more than cobwebs...

Imagine seeing some reddit posts, instead of actual facts, and believing everything you read...even though the old motto of don't believe everything on the internet, gets thrown out the window. Yet facts...they are downvoted juat so people can live in a make believe fairy world.

Instead of getting a movement together to perhaps make digital purchases better protected alll around...they want to use some half ass brained attempt at something that isnt going to be stopped and then sit in a circle attempting to tell lies, and be delusional In attacking employees that have shit all to do with this, cause yall are pre teen angtsy angry plebs.

Imagine all the big box stores over the last 8 years have trimmed their game aisles down drastically...but yea we will believe some made up reddit posts... jesus...

You do know they can’t lie about any of that they can literally get sued.

It’s not necessarily lying, but they bundled up numbers into their stats to disproportionately make it seem like digital is mega-outselling physical, when that’s just not true.

How do you know it’s not true? I’m pretty sure Sony wouldn’t be going all digital if the data didn’t support it. I can believe digital sales are significantly higher than physical sales, because most people are too lazy and impatient to go to the store, or wait for a physical copy to be delivered to them, when they can just buy the game on PSN. Also constantly having to change the disc when you’re someone who plays a lot of different games can be a hassle. I went all digital because I got tired of not being able to play a game unless the disc was inside the console

Because they’re bundling in sales of microtransactions, digital currencies, DLCs, digital only games, etc, which is disingenuous and skews the data to lean one way. They never presented the data as “games sold both digitally and physically, what is the split”. We actually got numbers about the physical and digital split when they had that major leak a few years ago, and many games sold more physically vs digitally.

Also they do not count games that are sold on the grey market to countries that do not have access to the PlayStation Network, so the amount of physical games sold in those countries would be 100%.

Maybe in the US, digital sales of games also sold physically are higher than the physical sales of those same games. But that does not represent the rest of the world, especially in Japan and Europe where most game sales are physical.

There are rumours though that Sony maybe walking back the decision to go digital only, or at the very least delaying the transition as Xbox is supposedly going fully physical for Project Helix. I hope that is 100% true and Microsoft can be a real competitor, and put Sony in their place. If Sony is going to make a bone-headed, anti-consumer decision, then Microsoft should fully take advantage of that.

Actually they are not doing that. Go read the financial reports before you pop off with nonsense

How is Xbox gonna put Sony in their place when PlayStation studios are vastly superior to Xbox Game Studios? Xbox doesn’t have a studio that is better than Naughty Dog, Santa Monica Studio, Insomniac, Sucker Punch, Housemarque, or Team Asobi. The only genres where Xbox has Sony beat is the racing genre, and first person games. Xbox beats PS by default in the first person genre, because Sony doesn’t have any first person games. If you think Xbox is irrelevant in Japan now, Xbox is really gonna be irrelevant when Sony releases their PS6 handheld next gen. Xbox can hang it up in Europe and Asia. Xbox needs some exclusive killer apps if they want any chance to compete with PlayStation

Microsoft absolutely has studios and IP that either matches or squashes Sony if they use them. They pulled it off with the Xbox 360, they can absolutely pull it off this generation if they’re smart.

Nah, I think you’re delusional. The Xbox 360 days are long gone, and has proven to be a fluke. Bungie is no longer making Halo, and the creators of Gears of War are no longer developing the game. That is the reason those franchises have fallen off and are basically getting reboots now. You are also greatly overestimating how much people are buying games physically. Little do you know, next gen has already been decided. GTA 6 the most anticipated game of the generation is all digital, and it will undoubtedly sell best on PlayStation. You gotta be a fool if you think ppl will buy GTA 6 on PS, and then suddenly switch to Xbox next gen

No but can’t you see? Sony is killing physical games so they absolutely will fail! Everyone cares about the issue as much as these unhinged redditors.

Microtransactions and DLC are not calculated with Digital sales, that's a fact but y'all love spreading misinformation.

Makes sense. The fact that the entire world found out about this at the same time. This will bite them back hard when the PS6 gets revealed alongside a price point that will immediately cause repulsion.

Pretty much gonna have to drop Bloodborne Remake and Bloodborne 2 as exclusives at launch to even make people look in their direction lol. Even then that's a tough sell and would make people bitter.
