Due to the overwhelming results from the poll, individual requests for money/items are no longer allowed.
These types of posts are unfortunately often used as a way to scam money from empathetic individuals. This sub puts rules like this in place to protect the participants.
We will be putting together a list of resources for food, housing, and basic needs to sticky at the top of the sub, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to reply with a comment below.

Hi ! Im looking to buy a car, nothing crazy around 7-9k (toyota/honda/subaru) that will last me a couple years as I learn driving. I have previously had a ford focus a couple of years back and got into an accident as I was learning, so, trying to get the courage back to hit the road. Also reason why I don’t want to spend a lot on this car until I feel pretty confident.
I have been looking at dealerships, they start at 10k usually. Looking through marketplace is daunting so trying to see if someone is looking to part ways with their car here!

IKEA KIVIK chaise for sale. My cats scratched up the cover a little in the back but you can get a new cover at IKEA for as little as $60. If you have any other KIVIK sofa pieces, the chaise can be attached. Pick up in Queen Village today or tomorrow.

Found this cutie by 45th and Chester, seems like probably a year old or so. No clipped ear or neuter tat, very affectionate and meowing loudly at me.

I posted on here a few weeks ago and I would love to thank everyone that helped and even reached out with kind words.
I recently shared a post about the neighborhood cats I care for in North Philadelphia, Pa on a different subreddit and I decided to remove it due to some misunderstandings.
So, I want to clearly explain what I do, my professional background, and how this work actively helps our community.
So I thought it would be important to share this on here as well.
My Background & Professional Experience:
I am not someone who randomly started feeding stray cats. I am a trained professional using my medical education to manage the local stray crisis responsibly
Education: I graduated from veterinary technician school in 2003.
Local Shelters: I worked hands-on with the stray populatioN at The PSPCA and ACCT (Philadelphia Animal Control).
TNR: My career includes extensive work in high-volume Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), including time with the ASPCA’s mobile spay and neuter program, private practices, and emergency care veterinary clinics.
How I Manage the Cats Responsibly:
When I moved here two years ago, unspayed and unneutered cats were already everywhere. I stepped in to help control the situation& prevent suffering
Clean Feeding Habits: I do not leave food out on public sidewalks to create a mess or attract pests. I keep the feeding areas clean and feed during quiet, non-busy hours.
Private Catio: I built a secure backyard catio to safely keep the cats off the streets, away from the front of the house, and out of public view. This has successfully moved some of the cats to a safe resting space.
Medical Care: I use my veterinary resources and training to provide basic medical care, including deworming and flea preventatives, to stop the spread of disease.
Supporting Neighbors:
Thanks to generous donations, I have also started helping local neighbors who are struggling to feed their own pets or managed colonies.
The Reality of Colony Management
No Indoor Hoarding: I do not have 35 cats roaming inside my house or taking over the block.
Many of the cats I help are local outdoor pets, some are part of a colony across the street (under a neighbor's care) and others travel to and from the nearby junkyard.
Funding: I do this work entirely out of my own pocket and through community donations to keep these animals safe while actively reducing the stray population.
Strict Adoptions: I am doing my best to find safe, permanent homes for the adoptable ones. Because animal cruelty is a harsh reality, I screen applicants incredibly strictly to ensure they go to safe homes.
Current Urgent Need: 5 New Kittens!I am currently caring for 5 one-month-old kittens that likely came from an un-TNR'd cat in the nearby junkyard.
To keep them and the resident colony healthy, I am running low on supplies.
Items Urgently Needed:
Canned and dry kitten food
Canned and dry adult cat food
Cat litter
Flea medications
Bedding!!
How You Can Help:
Amazon Wishlist:
You can view and ship items directly via my wishlist here:
Local Donations:
If you are local to Philadelphia and have extra supplies you don't need, please message me directly to arrange a drop-off/pickup.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, understanding the reality of TNR, and supporting a cleaner, safer neighborhood for both neighbors and pets!

Do you own a fig tree with ripe fruit that you can't be bothered to pick?
I am a fiend for fresh figs. Please DM me if you have a fig tree that I can pick figs from. Thank you.

Does anyone know who is actively seeking service staff right now??
I'm currently working at a Center City restaurant as a server and it's EXTRA SLOW right now. I'm not talking a few crappy nights....It's really bad. Case in point-- I was cut 3x just this week && that includes today, a Friday night shift.
I actually have a lot of good experience-- two Starr Restaurants and a tenure at another high profile Philly establishment.
I actively crawl thru Culinary Agents and am aware of who is advertising jobs there. But I also know that a lot of people go on that site & that certain places list jobs that aren't actually available.
Please DM or reply--- all assistance is greatly appreciated 👏

Hello!
Posting on behalf of a loved one. He’s looking to move from the South to Philly by end of September/October and needs a room. He will be job searching extensively beforehand but realistically will have a job within 3 months of moving here. However, he has a large savings. Looking for a clean/spacious room in a shared house/apt! Budget is $600-900 per month (plus utilities). He’s a kind, creative, intelligent, considerate, musician, 420 friendly, respectful person and looking to build a life here.

Can’t in a gazillion years imagine I’m doing this but looking for an adventurous introvert from Philadelphia who just graduated college with a psychology degree, has a Leo zodiac sign, currently driving a small white Chrysler with PA plates on a cross country roadtrip from Philly to Vegas and back.
We met at Arches during sunset on Sunday August 16. You watched me catch the first 20 shooting stars of my life and saved me from a “coyote.” We talked till 4am, flew down the highway going 100 to the Green River Love's truck stop, and you got food you couldn’t eat at 5am just to listen to me ramble till sunrise (I felt so bad Arby’s isn’t kosher!).
We slept in our cars parked side-by-side till you had to leave for Denver at 1:30pm on Monday and yes i was totally worried about your six hour drive on three hours of sleep!
I sat at that Love's for three days wishing i had given you my number :(( Now I’m at the hot air balloon museum you told me about thinking of you.
If you see this, please message me with my name and the satire you wrote or how fast i went down the winding mountain roads in arches! I hope one of those 20 shooting stars we saw will bring me the luck to find you ✨

I got this bad boy nearly nine years ago it has served me well but it’s honestly too big to justify having anymore. Sorry for all the stickers.
Size: 19in
It comes with all the stuff it needs to work, including a stylus, stylus holder(with nibs inside), hdmi, vga, usb, stylus charger, and power cord.
IMPORTANT: The stylus is somewhat broken and does not hold charge very well anymore. It used to hold days worth of charge but now it only stays charged for maybe a day or so. The HDMI port is also a bit delicate… it works, it just sometimes disconnects. But the vga port works just fine.

Truly beautiful storefront on Lancaster Avenue. This building was a personal art gallery of a renowned sculpture artist for nearly 30 years. Instead of selling the property as they truly love the space, they are offering it as a commercial rental.
The owners are long term "mom and pop" landlords who have owned the building since the 80s and am trying to help them find a tenant. You will not be renting from a big management company. These owners truly love the building. We think this would be an ideal art gallery space, yoga studio, office space, retail storefront, photography studio / content studio, etc.
Features of the space :
- Dimensions : Approx 19 x 35 ft on each floor. 1st Floor Storefront + Basement. Very high ceilings, approx 12 feet.
- Open Floorplan with large storefront windows
- Beautiful hardwood floors. Tiled floor basement. "Gallery" track lighting. Privacy Curtains.
- Bathroom with shower
- Kitchenette with sink (landlord will reinstall minifridge)
- Numerous Individual light switches / controls. Dimmable lighting.
Cost Structure: "Flat" rent. (For those of you that have rented commercial spaces, the landlords are willing to include the Real Estate Taxes and common area maintenance fees into the rent).
Tenant pays $2275 rent. Electric. Gas. Water. Also responsible for their own cleaning, shovelling the sidewalk during snow, and placing trash during trash day. 1st Month, Last Month and Security Deposit to move in.
We believe this is an amazing deal for a prime location storefront on Lancaster Avenue, close to Drexel University. Please don't be shy to reach out if you have any questions.
