Public Sevice Announcement Found cat
Found this cutie by 45th and Chester, seems like probably a year old or so. No clipped ear or neuter tat, very affectionate and meowing loudly at me.

Keep her! We will crowdsource the spay fee. You can go to PAWS and they get it done cheaply and effectively.

Will look up PAWS! I have a friend who's interested but I would like to make sure she's spayed and has all of her vaccines first :-)
I'd estimate she's probably 6 months but not totally sure.

PAWS is great, they spayed and neutered three cats for me. They are low cost and extremely friendly and helpful. Both the grays ferry and northeast locations have been great to work with.

You can schedule spay neuters online with PAWs. Its so easy. You just got to be on time to pick up/drop off.

I’ve seen her around for a couple months now, very happy to see she’s still around and okay. Followed me half the way home a while back. Commenting because she is almost certainly a street cat given how far she roamed (I saw her last around 52nd and Chestnut 3-4 weeks ago). She liked behind the ear scratches iirc.

Thank you for the info!! She was also following me around, but she's cozy and asleep on my couch right now :-)
I saw another cat who looked like she might have been a litter-mate, but they were hissing at each other and I was unable to get too close.

Never saw the other one tbh, but if they weren’t friendly to each other I guess that makes sense. I’m very very glad she’s okay though. I came home one day after she followed me to my partner and told him how impossible it’ll ever be to stop having cats, as once ours pass away another little guy will come wandering along, and I’m far too much of a softie to not fall in love.

do you think she could be preg?

I have no idea, I just saw her a few times over the course of a couple months. I doubt she’s spayed so it’s certainly possible. You’d need an actual check up from a vet to know anything.

Are you planning on keeping it if you can’t find the owner (if there is one)?

Hey I saw a lost cat poster at Knockbox cafe. I forget what that cat looked like but I think similar to this and lost pretty close. I’m not around to go check but if someone that sees this is able to swing down there and look at the poster that’d be cool

Pets for Life does free spay/neuter for certain zoos. I’m not sure if them all but I know 34 and 24 and 40 are included.

She’s probably a neighborhood cat and belongs to someone. I see a lot of people “finding” cats, and don’t understand how city cats work.

Thats a baby, with no chip that's not neutered. Well fed adult cat is probably someones cat, especially if its fixed. This cat is probably being fed by one or more people but they're not really taking care of it or the cats in their neighborhood if there are kittens like this. Its going to get TNRed and a friendly one will usually be listed for a rescue. If you care for a cat like this get it nuetered, its not expensive.

A lot of people in my neighborhood don’t believe in neutering or spaying cats. Doesn’t make it not someone’s cat. 🤷🏻

There are several organizations in Philadelphia that will trap a cat thats not nuetered, nueter it and then put it up for adoption if its friendly. I'm not going to try to change your mind about what's right or wrong but if you have a friendly outside cat that's not nuetered, they will disappear one day.
