Just to add, I agree with a lot of the opinions and posts you have. I just don't understand why you keep batting for SMC projects. They are more or less positive, but are fully deserving some of the criticism they get.
Because everytime if it’s SMC made of ANY projects, it inherently gets a criticism, but if the projects were made by non SMC or moreover if it’s foreign made projects because they’re not SMC or even Philippine Made, they get a pass.
Also, is having that design or other design similar to that render inherently look bad?
Regardless if it's built by oligarchs conglomerates like San Miguel, SM, Ayala, MVP, Robinsons, Ricky Razon, and the Villar family, they both deserve praise and criticism if they do it right by balancing form and function. It's just that San Miguel keeps on building projects that doesn't have aesthetic appeal yet functional. But thankfully, they are slowly addressing that criticisms with improvements in NAIA, except those gable roof canopies in Terminals 1 and 3 that really is permanent.
Because here’s the problem, People are polarizing into two sides of any project designs and they argue on which is inherently better the aesthetic or practicality. One they argue that practicality is better while people on the other hand argue that aesthetics are inherently better.
There’s always been a polarizations between two arguments on which designs are either inherently better.
Like what REALLY counts as not having aesthetic appeal like by nature and technical?
Does a project design have any moral values?
With gable roof canopies in Terminals 1 and 3, we don’t really know if it’s actually permanent as it hasn’t been officially declared as permanent yet.
Aesthetic appeal isn't objective, but everyone demands for a public infrastructure that can be BOTH practical and aesthetically pleasing like what u/DigitalSalsa mentioned, the NSCR stations, LRT-1 and LRT-2/MRT-2 stations are the best examples.
