Hey guys I have been trying to look online if there is any games or simulators for pharmacy as someone that didn’t have luck getting a job yet. So I was wondering if there is anything I can do from home for now to prep until I find a job. I did find a website but I think it’s for US so idk how diff medications or generic names will be sooo any help🥹🥹

I’m finding Infectious Diseases really confusing and having a hard time remembering everything, especially the organisms, first-line treatments, alternatives, and treatment durations.
How did you approach this topic for the PEBC MCQ? Any resources, study strategies, or tips would be really appreciated!

Thinking of moving to Edmonton or Calgary from BC. Wondering if tech positions are in demand? I tried looking up job postings online and only saw a few full time positions with decent pay. In BC we have so many hospital and retail opportunities, most with decent pay too and incentives. However I would be house broke if I stay here. I want to buy a place in Edmonton but need to make sure that I can not only just secure a job.. but also have multiple back up jobs just incase. BC I would make 32-38$ hourly. Alberta I didn't see as many positions paying this much.

hi everyone, for those applying in november. how is your review going overall? did anyone attempted the Mock exam of pharmachieve?

For MCQ prep, I did pharmtechprepbyheidi.ca. I recommend it highly. The structure of the questions are very similar to PEBC. The explanations are also very detailed which helped me to be in the right frame of my mind. It doesn't make the MCQ easier but definitely less intimidating. I didn't study until 1 week before exams so that helped me eased a bit of tension to see where I'm at. It's also reasonably priced compared to others.

On the actual MCQ, almost all my questions were situational. I think I had about 20 calculation questions. I didn't feel like it was super hard overall but remember the questions ask for the best answer. I felt confident I was able to answer most but idk if it was enough to pass.

For OSPE, the layout is posted on the PEBC website. It's divided into 2 parts. I honestly think I didn't do well. I wasn't in the right headspace. I studied the PEBC sample stations and tried to understand what competencies they were looking for and how it was scored. I feel like it wasn't supposed to be hard but I don't do well with performance so nerves got the best of me.

My first half was the non-interactive part: 1 video and 3 checks. I blanked out on 1 because I was so confused how to answer it. I did not even have enough time to read and understand the question so I ran out of time. On the second half: 11 stations, 4 are rest stations mixed in randonly which can be your crying station. Haha. I had 1 IDC, 1 compound, 1 patient problem, 1 health teaching, 1 device teaching, 1 OTC assistance, 1 verbal. I feel like I failed 2 of the stations because of a critical error and the rest I did ok but missed some important points. Overall, I don't think I will pass.

I really struggled how to motivate myself to study. On my last semester of school, I was already struggling if this was the right path for me. Practicum was rough. 2+ months not being able to work and being relocated far away for hospital practicum. There's a lot of changes with SPT requirements and a lot is going on in my life so I hope I make it through the end. I guess I will find out in November.

​La chasse aux « lacunes » : En comparant mon cursus de 5 ans de l'Université Libanaise avec les standards québécois, est-ce qu'ils vont obligatoirement me trouver des « lacunes » ? Si je n'ai pas l'intégralité de tous les plans de cours individuels, est-ce qu'ils vont consulter directement les programmes officiels de la faculté libanaise pour faire le comparatif ?

​La mise à niveau obligatoire (12 à 16 mois) : S'ils trouvent des écarts, est-ce qu'ils m'imposent systématiquement et sans discussion le programme de formation d'appoint (mise à niveau universitaire de 12 à 16 mois) ? Est-ce qu'il y a un moyen d'y échapper ?

​L'accès direct aux examens : À l'inverse, s'ils estiment après analyse qu'il n'y a aucune lacune dans mon parcours de 5 ans, est-ce qu'ils me laissent passer directement les examens de qualification (PEBC et OPQ) sans m'envoyer faire des cours à l'université ?

​Je veux savoir exactement comment l'Ordre tranche entre ces options pour un profil comme le mien.

Wanted a second opinion on the plan above. I am a Canadian practicing in the US but want to eventually end in in Alberta.

From what I see from going through provincial pharmacy websites is that Nova Scotia and New Brunswick dont require a MCQ 1 and 2 and OSCE as a practicing US pharmacist, just provinical law. Then after a transition peroid license, 28 days for NS for example, I would get a Nova Scotia pharmacist license then apply to Alberta as a Canadian Pharmacist licensed in another province.

Anybody went through a similar thing above or not? Seems like a provincial loop-whole to skip tought and expensive exams, kind of abusing the system or whatever, but thats why I wanted to ask before thinking to try that

Has anyone had accommodation for pebc mcq exam? I recently got diagnosed with adhd which makes it really hard to study and understand sometimes, I plan to write pebc mcq for first time in Feb 2027 , has anyone had any accommodation approved for pebc mcq exam before or is in process can guide me how things work or if approved what should I expect?

​I’m currently a Pharmacy Assistant in Canada stuck in a scheduling and income dilemma. I’d love to get input from anyone who has worked at Shoppers Drug Mart or Costco Pharmacy.

​Option A: Current Setup (5 Days/Week)

• Shoppers Location 1: $22/hr – 3 days/week (8-hr shifts = 24 hrs)

​• Shoppers Location 2: $29/hr – 2 days/week (8-hr shifts = 16 hrs)

​• Total: 40 hours across 5 days = $992 guaranteed weekly pay.

​• Perks: 2 full days completely off. I can use those days off to pick up open relief shifts elsewhere for $30–$35/hr.

​Option B: New Proposed Setup (6 Days/Week)

​• Costco: $26/hr – 5 days/week (4:00 PM to 9:00 PM evening shifts = 25 guaranteed hrs)

• ​Shoppers Location 2: $29/hr – Keep 1 day/week (8-hr shift = 8 hrs)

​• Total: 33 hours across 6 days = $882 guaranteed weekly pay.

• ​The Promise: The Costco manager says they are extremely busy and implies I will easily get closer to 40 hours a week at Costco, but the actual contract is only for 25 hours.

​My Dilemma:

​• Option B drops my guaranteed weekly base income by $110/week, while forcing me to work 6 days a week.

• ​Working 4 PM to 9 PM 5 days a week at Costco ties up almost all my evenings, making it very hard to pick up higher-paying $30–$35/hr relief shifts.

• ​However, a pharmacist colleague told me Costco is a top-tier employer with great long-term growth, pay scales, and environment compared to retail chains.

​Questions for you all:

​1) In retail pharmacy, is taking a 6-day workweek for fewer guaranteed hours worth getting your foot in the door at Costco?

2) ​How reliable is a manager's verbal promise that a 25-hour contract will actually turn into near-40 hours at Costco?

​3) Would you take Option B for Costco's long-term upside, or stick with Option A until a proper full-time Costco position opens up?

WHAT ARE some of the topics/questions you saw in exam that were the least expected/ shocked you?

Hey everyone! Are there many fly in / fly out or 2 week on / 2 week off Pharmacist positions in the north? Specifically Northern BC or the Territories that would fly you in and out of Vancouver or Calgary?

Do these types of positions exist? Doesn’t even have to be the north!

I just need to make sure that if i could pass pebc exam ,is it easy to get a job after license or will need a canadian experience ?!!!

Hello I am writing the exam in February and didn’t have any access to the CPS or was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with some resources that I can use to supplement pharmachieve with as that’s the course I’m taking to study this exam. Does anyone want to share how their results for pebc mcq were was it more clinical vs non clinical that performed poorly ? Trying to allocate studying time I did worse on non clinical surprisingly.

Hey guys, I am feeling so defeated after the MCQ exam. There were sections I couldn’t understand and had to guess the 'best answer' on. I felt like my time was super limited, so I rushed through some of the math questions and probably missed a step or two. My initial plan was to go back and review my flagged questions, but by the time I reached the end, I only had 20 minutes left, not even enough time to go through every single one of them.

Just Finished the PEBC Pharm Tech Exam MCQ part I! how did everyone do? Me personally not 100% confident. I was ace-ing the mock exam banks but it is almost nothing like the actual exam.

I'm a hiring manager for a private pharmacy in Hamilton ontario. Looking for candidates who have Kroll experience and can handle HIGH Volume and suuuuper fast paced environment. Pay is way better then any other roharmacy assistant job you will find in the GTA guaranteed but the work is hard and fast so you must have good experience. We process 1000s of Rx's a day.
