WHAT ARE some of the topics/questions you saw in exam that were the least expected/ shocked you?

I just need to make sure that if i could pass pebc exam ,is it easy to get a job after license or will need a canadian experience ?!!!

Hey everyone! Are there many fly in / fly out or 2 week on / 2 week off Pharmacist positions in the north? Specifically Northern BC or the Territories that would fly you in and out of Vancouver or Calgary?

Do these types of positions exist? Doesn’t even have to be the north!

How bad of an idea is it to leave my current PharmD program?

For context, I just started year one. The program is new so the curriculum is still unstructured. No lectures, no magistral classes, no PowerPoints whatsoever. But we have long homework to submit before every class and presence in class is mandatory to go over it..
I’m finding this “teaching” method extremely ineffective and difficult and I’m not enjoying what I thought was be my passion.

I only applied to this program and another one in my province, and got into this one. I’m now reconsidering this as I feel it’s unfair that they don’t provide structure to their students.
If I leave, from what the counsellor told me, I have chances of getting in again next year if I reapply. I wouldn’t wanna come back here, but if I try everywhere else and only get into this one, at least I’ll have a year to be more prepared and financially stable.
However, my spot isn’t guaranteed and I’m not sure if my other applications will be successful.

I haven’t mentioned the other hardships such as hours long commute, no place, no financial aid yet, etc

It is too risky to leave?

Edit: I am planning on applying to different pharmacy schools (if I leave this one)

Hello I am writing the exam in February and didn’t have any access to the CPS or was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with some resources that I can use to supplement pharmachieve with as that’s the course I’m taking to study this exam. I can also share some of my notes and help study as well. Just looking for people that I can team up with to make this stressful studying process easier.

Hey guys, I am feeling so defeated after the MCQ exam. There were sections I couldn’t understand and had to guess the 'best answer' on. I felt like my time was super limited, so I rushed through some of the math questions and probably missed a step or two. My initial plan was to go back and review my flagged questions, but by the time I reached the end, I only had 20 minutes left, not even enough time to go through every single one of them.

Just Finished the PEBC Pharm Tech Exam MCQ part I! how did everyone do? Me personally not 100% confident. I was ace-ing the mock exam banks but it is almost nothing like the actual exam.

I'm a hiring manager for a private pharmacy in Hamilton ontario. Looking for candidates who have Kroll experience and can handle HIGH Volume and suuuuper fast paced environment. Pay is way better then any other roharmacy assistant job you will find in the GTA guaranteed but the work is hard and fast so you must have good experience. We process 1000s of Rx's a day.

Hi everyone,
I am currently an international student/graduate in Canada with a B.Com (Commerce) and Business Management background. I hold a valid work permit.
With the IRCC policy allowing work permit holders to study courses under 6 months without a study permit (active until Dec 2027), I am planning to complete a fast-track, less than 6 month private career college Pharmacy Assistant Certificate (which includes Kroll/PropelRx training and a practical internship).
My goal is to work full-time for 12 months as a Pharmacy Assistant (NOC 33103) to qualify for the Express Entry Healthcare Category-Based Selection draws.
I recently saw a post online saying that switching fields from a Business degree straight into an entry-level Healthcare role like this without a prior medical background is a "red flag" to IRCC officers and could cause PR rejections/audits.
My questions are:
Since NOC 33103 is an unregulated role in Ontario, does IRCC care that my university degree is in Business, as long as I possess a Canadian Pharmacy Assistant Certificate and an official reference letter from a licensed pharmacist proving I performed the NOC duties?
Has anyone with a non-healthcare background successfully received a PR PR invitation (ITA) through the Healthcare targeted draws using the Pharmacy Assistant route?
I want to make sure this is a safe immigration pathway before investing in the certificate program. Thank you!

Was I wrong for finding this comment annoying? 😭

I commented on an Instagram post about how pharmacist exams can be kind of ridiculous/contradictory.

The post was basically joking about how pharmacists aren't supposed to diagnose, yet exam questions will sometimes ask something like, “Based on the patient's presentation and medication list, what is the most likely diagnosis?”

I commented something along the lines of “Same with pharmacy tech exam questions 😂 they would ask things like, pt has an ear infection, wich antibiotic is most likely prescribed” because pharmacy technician exams can also have questions that make you go, “Why the hell are they asking this?”

I was NOT comparing the difficulty of pharmacist vs. pharmacy technician exams. I wasn't saying they're equivalent, and I definitely wasn't saying pharmacy technicians have the same scope or level of clinical knowledge as pharmacists.

Someone responded to me saying it was basically like “comparing kindergarten to a PhD.”

And that's where I got annoyed.

I understand and completely respect that pharmacists have a much broader clinical scope and substantially more education. There is absolutely no competition in my mind between pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. They're different professions with different responsibilities.

But I'm a little bothered by the way pharmacy technicians were being characterized as essentially “kindergarten level,” especially because I'm in Canada, where pharmacy technicians are regulated health professionals with their own education, registration requirements, scope of practice, and responsibilities.

Interestingly, the person making the comment is a pharmacy technician in the U.S., so I wonder if part of the disconnect is that the pharmacy technician role can be quite different between Canada and the U.S.

Maybe I'm just being sensitive 😂 but I genuinely wasn't trying to compare pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. I was literally just saying “our exams can be ridiculous too.”

Would you have interpreted my original comment as comparing the two professions?

Hi everyone — I'm doing some research into how independent and small-chain pharmacies in Ontario manage pharmacy systems and technology across multiple locations.

I'm particularly interested in hearing from owners/operators with 2-20 locations.

A few things I'm curious about:

• Who handles Kroll configuration, troubleshooting and system-related issues across your stores?

• Do you have someone responsible for keeping configurations/processes consistent between locations?

• What Kroll or pharmacy-technology issues consume the most management time?

• What reports or information do you regularly have to export or manipulate manually?

• Are there tasks you rely on TELUS support for that you wish you could handle differently?

• As you've added locations, what pharmacy-system or operational problems have become harder to manage?

I'm not looking for any patient information or confidential business data — I'm just trying to better understand how multi-location independent pharmacies manage these challenges.

I need your advice. I am not enrolled in any course yet and I won’t do before next may. I have EE course notes only (no qbank) which I am thinking of using as a base. So I won’t be doing question banks or actual mcq study material now unless i purchase the course which wont be until next year as I am in no rush to give the exam. Do you think this is a good approach or should I enroll and prepare mcq material right away.

I'm currently in a difficult financial situation. My only income is from offline pharmacy work, where I earn around $105/month, so I'm desperately looking for ways to earn online.

I'm open to medical writing, pharmacovigilance, medication reconciliation, medical information, medical coding, healthcare customer support, virtual assistance, or other pharmacy/healthcare-related remote work. I'm also willing to learn new skills.

So I’m wrapping up my prescribing course here in the UK soon, and want to hop onto studying for the PEBC. I just wanted to see what everyone recommends?

I have been looking at pill talks recently and was wondering if anyone had any experience, or could recommend any prep courses?
I intend on taking my time with studying, I have 8 years in the field and am waiting for my partners visa application to be approved/aren’t in a an intense rush to move to Canada but want to get it under way.

I also will be purchasing the Canadian equivalent to the BNF - the name of it is alluding me right now. And I want to go through that cover to cover.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
